I am guessing that some folks must be retired - I could never fit all that travel into 1 year!
Have fun!!!Roam if you want to, roam around the world...........

Retired
Retirement!
Seems like an interesting concept.
Then, there are rest of us, who continue to struggle deep in the mines, scratching out an existence; only sneaking out into the sunshine now and then.
Retirement.....gotta explore those possibilities one day.- Ω -

Oh Omegaet, you are painting a pretty bleak pictures. You, who jets off to Portugal, getting picked up in a Mercedes, staying at the 5-star Reed Palace, hiring a private guide in Portugal. Exploring Argentina, Brazil and Peru, or Belize..... You don't sound like the masses that struggle deep in the mines, scratching out an existence.... Luckily you can combine business with pleasure.
However, you must be close to retirement age too by now. You ought to try retirement, sooner rather than later. It is wonderful, having time to do what you want to do, when you want to do it..... Being footloose and fancy free, as long as you have your health is the best of all worlds.

10-31-2012, 10:29 AMI do not have enough vacation days banked to take all the wonderful trips on my bucket list {boo}. I have one trip booked for the beginning of Feb to Mexico and hope to have at least 2 more LL vacations planned for later in the year.

Yes, I know, this is a very full schedule for 2013 and it does take quite a bit of planning and organization. We do take time out when we are in our Bavarian vacation home, enjoying hiking and biking and going out with the many friends we have made there.
Hope your hip replacement goes well. I had my first one replaced in 2004 and my second one in 2010 and I am still going strong, hiking, biking, skiing, etc. Hip replacements are one of the easiest replacements you can have, especially if you go for the "minimal invasive" replacement surgery. My first one was done that way mid Aug. of 2004 and by early Oct. of 2004 we attended our college exchange student's wedding high up in a mountain hut in the Maderaner valley (Switzerland), where the only way to get there was on foot. You should be out of commission for about 2 to 3 weeks. Be prepared from then on for thorough screening every time you have to go through an airport. Good Luck!

jsattapr2,
You remember correctly. I did fall off my bike in Florida a few years ago and broke my wrist. I was watching the sunset and not where I was going and ran into my husband's bike....The doc inserted a titanium plate and my wrist is as good as new. Although, my husband calls me the "bionic woman"....
