Jetstar Fares get cheaper without baggage
For everyone who doesn't have the luxury of getting a first class flight out of town, this is indeed great news.
"The budget airfare war has again heated up with Tiger Airways announcing its own sale in the wake of Jetstar's one-cent seats....the move comes after Virgin Blue last week trumpeted its sale of one-cent fares from Sydney to Port Macquarie. Jetstar is now claiming its airfare sale is the cheapest ever offered in Australia for interstate travel."
what's your reaction? My only problem with this is the luggage limit.. and well I'm not really from Australia, but this is good news and hopefully will spread on to other countries.

Re: Airlines slashing their rates
won't fly here...
Oil $100 barrel+
3 Major US carriers in and/or out of bankruptcy protection in the past 5 years
US airlines don't have surcharges (UPS, Fedex, etc ALL do--as do your groceries--notice the $.99 veggies are now $1.29 a pound?)
Most Low cost carriers are at the end of their fuel hedges and many of them will now have to start paying for aircraft maintenance
Slash fares?? (maybe in a few select competitive markets--mostly limited teaser seats)
I think the phrase "rolling on the floor laughing" applies."wherever you go, there you are"
