welcome and take a look at this page:
http://www.luxurylink.com/about/abt_main.php
It tells you quite a bit about LL.
We're all luxury travel fanatics, too---most of us have bought auction packages for places all over the world.
If you're looking for info on a specific place or property, you can usually find it under the "destinations" section--or you can ask here. Contributors are always willing to add their opinions and share experiences.
We've been on Ll pkgs in Prague, Thailand, Africa, Brazil and Bali. Some of our VIP's frequent Central and South America, or Europe or Africa, etc, and will offer advice on what they know. Of course, the LL staff provides great help, as well!
If you find yourself overwhelmed from looking at all the offers at LL, lean back from the computer, close your eyes briefly, take a deep breath and start again..."wherever you go, there you are"

Hi H. Just out of curiosity...how did you find out about Luxury Link? As to its appeal, please look at Conde Nast, Travel and Leisure, Smart Money, etc. Many months you will see Luxury Link listed as a great trip idea. Have fun!

I am also new to LL. Would someone advise me what % Match means? Also, do they ever have an auction item that would allow you to bid for two portions (rooms) for another couple to join us?
Thank you!

hi mcsander--welcome!
You can call or email property to see if they allow 2 packages to be used @same time. We were on a safari and another couple had bought their pkg from LL, but we didn't know them. It was off-season, tho. I would get confirmation in writing first.
There are a few auctions that are for 4 or more adults--one comes to mind, Villa Carioca in France--as well as some of the villas in Bali or the Italian Sassio group. I think you have to inquire case by case."wherever you go, there you are"

Hello Mcsander7 and halothane!
Welcome to LL and the community. I've been "addicted" to LL for about the past 6 years when I purchased my first package to Australia. Since then I have purchased several more and one as recently as last month. I peruse LL and read the community comments most every day.
There are always some amazing offers and usually some lucky bidder ends up with a fantastic deal. One thing I would recommend to get a feel for LL is to look under "Past Auction Results" found under the header "Travel Offers". This will show you the more recent deals, how many people bid on the deal and what the final bid was. Also, one of the really great features of the LL site is that it allows you to "jump" directly the to property's website. I do this all the time to see the room selections and to compare the pricing directly from the hotel. Right away I can tell if the offer from LL is super or for some reason the hotel has a special going that is better than the LL package. (FYI, in most cases, the LL deal is definitely better!)
Have fun with LL and let us hear from you when you win your first bid!

Hi Mcsander7,
In regards to booking 2 packages at the same time to bring along a guest... I did the same thing this past summer to the Trojan Horse Inn in Sonoma, CA. I won the mystery bid (which I guessed was the Trojan Horse Inn) and also purchased a package under a regular auction. However, before I did this, I called the hotel directly to make sure that they would honor two LL winnings for the same three nights. The Trojan Horse Inn did, but please note that some hotels/small B&B's only accept one LL package at a time. So call the hotel you are interested in and speak to the manager and directly ask him if they will accept to LL packages for the same time. If they do, then go ahead and bid on both packages and/or bid on one and buy the other. Good luck.

Halothane, welcome to Luxury Link. I discovered this site in early 2008 and I visit every day to look at packages, read comments from other travelers, and to see what's new. I wrote about my first experience buying a package from Luxury Link. You can read about it in my blog, "Swimming with the Fish." Just click on Travel Blogs and you'll find it. Like many new visitors to the site, I was skeptical since some of the offers seem too good to be true. I can assure you that Luxury Link is legitimate and you will find some amazing bargains on the website.
