Lucky you, bonniejoy,
On our flight to London, no free drinks were served. Maybe having to ask for them was the answer.
We will ask for the free drink promotion on our way back from London to Miami by the end of the month.

I always get free drinks when I fly American Airlines. On my flights to and from Peru, the FAs asked me what I wanted. My response was any alcoholic beverage as long as there is no cost to me (I told them I observe the same policy when guests come to my home).

They kept pouring and I kept drinking until I fell asleep.

Now I'm wondering it this happens to everyone or just to me because of my fabulous looks and apparent wealth. I really, really wonder?

Well, well, well, It's official now!

American Airlines to bring back free alcohol on International flights
From February 1, the airline will scrap its $7 (£4.50) charge for wine and $6 (£3.90) charge for beer on board certain flights.

Hi M....that is GREAT!!! Think it just happens to you. We got the "stink eye" when we asked for wine and beer on these new "free drink flights." Then.......she only had two left by the time she got to us! (and gave us the stink eye again when she served us.)

Bet they never "ran out" when pax had to pay!! What is with the FA 'TUDE?? Maybe Chapter and takeover are on her mind, instead of service? Hope she's thinking safety first...

Isn't that true!! No one else had drinks and it seemed like they were hidden to the economy class folks. Glad I read about this new policy before I flew! Next time, I will call AA ahead for my "special meal" and ask to make sure there is enough available by the time they get to row 36!! (and not the stinky stufff....
