American Air credit Card
I know we have discussed which cc to use in the past. I just had a great experience with AA Citibank MC/am exp. We were going to get rid of the cards due to the fee. When we called in, they waived the fee and offered us 3000 miles on the am exp if we spend 500 in three months. Nice customer service. (actually FANTASTIC people we spoke with.) So, we will keep the card. Just an FYI story.

Since we are on the issue of credit cards - they are all hurrying to add as many fees as they can now - all capital one cards now are charging a $60 annual fee - we just our notice in the mail! If we did not need to have a card for travelling, we would not have one at all - they are getting to be very greedy!

WOW...I didn't see this fee yet. I only use Cap one for out of the US. Is your card the standard one or do you accumulate points? Our card is the money back. On the card issue, we have a picture of us and our pup on the front of the card. Every place that we use it LOVES this picture and never worries about additional id!! Hard to look as cute as us!!!

I've had the same experience with credit card companies offering me bonus points or miles for not canceling a card. In fact, I have some credit cards that I don't use frequently and I occasionally call the company and ask them for free miles if I don't cancel. They usually oblige and this is an easy way to get miles.

I just have regular capital one cards and these are the only credit cards we have.

Hi D....I like the cap one card. I did call to see if I would be receiving a fee. The first rep didn't understand so put me on hold for 8 minutes. I then hung up and called back. I was assured there was no fee for my card. I love to use this card abroad. I do like AA card for the ff seats. Does your cap one allow you to get airline seats?

I too recently tried to cancel one of my Citibank AAdvantage MasterCards due to the $85 renewal fee, especially since Citibank AAdvantage has a MasterCard promotion until Oct. 31st which gives you 30,000 miles after $750 in purchases over 4 months, plus no annual fee the first year. The customer service person I spoke to offered me an $85 credit after 5 purchases (which can be as little as $1 at a time), so I took the offer and renewed the card. I like the Citibank AAdvantage World MasterCard since we do mostly fly American Airlines and the miles accumulate fast.
