I think I have figured out the little secret behind all the flight changes - I just got a notice that my United flight to Nicaragua in March has changed so I was kind of comparing it to the changes in my flight schedule on AA in November and noticed (I am in business/1st on all flights) that they all changed from flights with breakfast, lunch, or dinner to flights and times that only have "snacks" - maybe a new cost cutting measure to save on serving a full meal in business/1st - what do you think?
I am starting to notice a pattern!Roam if you want to, roam around the world...........

Many flight schedules are dependent on the airport facilities. There are time slots in each direction. Airlines pay for certain time/gate slots. Can be a two-fold cost cutter--change timing to cheaper gate rate and get slot where you don't have to serve any food...

There is this organization called 24/7 Wall St. that has a pretty good track record of predicting which companies/organizations will not be around the following year.
They just published their list for 2013 and American Airlines is # 1 on the list of companies that will not be here in 2013 - AA was the only travel related business on the list. The rest were more retail - companies like cell phone providers - Blackberry, AVON, etc.Roam if you want to, roam around the world...........

Well....whatever. Someone will be flying to Belize City in January, so we can take our long weekend.
I just don't have the time to be jumping through hoops with American's issue at present......we'll just celebrate the End Of The World here in Miami and then see what happens.- Ω -

10-04-2012, 02:12 AMWhatever will happen to American Airlines, AA is too big a company with a too big a FF following, to not honor their frequent flyer program. If AA will be absorbed by USAir or any other airline, they will take over and honor the frequent flyer miles, just like United did with Continental.

I hope so - AA actually gave me a good deal for purchasing tickets from their web site - 6 months to pay with no interest. I used this for my November trip to CR.
If it really is the end of the world in December, then I guess any lists that say who will not be around in 2013 will not matter anymore ;-)
I hope that if AA does merge with USAir that it is a good merger and not like the Continental/United merger that just resulted in fewer choices for Latin American flights and higherprices. Also I hope they keep the payment options and FF miles the same, although Continental did not keep their FF policies the same - they never used to expire but since the merger, they expire now so I have to make sure I fly with them at least 1X within an 18 month period to prevent the loss of any miles.Roam if you want to, roam around the world...........

I was on a business trip last week to Los Angeles on Delta. On all 4 flights, there was not a single vacant seat. One of the planes was a large 767. The standby list had more than 30 people and would have had more people but they stop taking any more names for standby. The gate area was crazy!
I asked the gate agent what was going on lately with such full flights and long standby lists. He replied......American Airlines issues and concerns are causing people to flock to other airlines. Interesting.Life is too short.........travel now!
