Thanks, American Airlines, unions and upper management. I see you just cut out one of my favorite flights to Belize. That's the one I usually take when I go fishing with my buds.

United did the same to me - they cut out the flight we always take from Philadelphia to Houston when going to Latin America! I like those very early morning flights since it gets us to Latin America mid afternoon. And I noticed that AA still has the early flights from Philadelphia but they have cut many of the flights that come from MIA to PHL and get you home at a fairly reasonable hour - now they all get me back to Philly at 1:30am or later!

Looks like AA managements and their pilots have an agreement in play and signatures may be coming from both sides soon. Now maybe AA can get serious about working out a suitable bankruptcy plan and we can find some clear air for the immediate future.

    No USAir, please!

Back from CR and review of hotel, etc. will be coming soon. This was our 1st time using AA and were not impressed at all. We were supposed to be pre check since we are registered with Global entry and registered through AA, however, our boarding passes did not indicate pre check so regular security lines for us - AA dropped the ball here. The flight attendents were pleasant on the PHL to MIA and MIA to SJO fllights, however on the SJO to MIA and MIA to PHL the attendants were surly and very unattentive and we were in 1st/business on all segments. AA personnel in PHL were great, however, AA personnel in SJO and MIA were surly, had no idea where the luggage would come in and anytime you asked them a question you were pretty much ignored.
We absolutely hated the MIA airport and would never fly through there again - lack of signs giving directions, where are the 60 new global entry kiosks - we only had 10 coming in and there were lines and some were not working, after you go through the kiosk there were no clear directions on what to do next - this is where I had a run in with the TSA and my husband had to control me or I would probably have been arrested - I dropped my bag and held the corner of the global entry reciept in my lips while I picked my bag up and when I asked the TSA guy if I had to give him my receipt and he said no so I continued to walk through and he very nastily said "where do you think you are going - STOP RIGHT THERE!" I asked what was wrong and then he said where is your receipt and I said you told me not to give it to you and then he said "YOU ARE JUST SO NASTY YOU HAD IT IN YOUR MOUTH" So I got a bit of an attitude with him and said it was not in my mouth but just held between my lips and then I threw it at him and went on my way - I think he was ready to do more but he could see everyone behind me glaring at him and quite a few said he treated me horribly. The caps are because he was literally shouting this terrible stuff at me. Not so impressed by AA customer service or the MIA airport at this point. Global entry is nice and we got through fairly quick, however, had to wait almost 1 hour for our luggage to finally come in after much confusion as to where it would come in.

No reason for rude treatment by that agent. I had similar issue one time, when I put my passport between my teeth, long enough to zip my handbag, then removed it. It did not touch my lips/tongue. Immigration agent went berserk, but I had an alcohol-based lens cloth, that I could use quickly before handing the passport to him. I thought he was going to arrest me--JERK. Gee--he had no clue where my hands had been during a long haul, but my teeth were taboo?

Trusted traveler precheck doesn't apply to tickets connected to international travel anyway--look at the rules .At least the GE was a plus for you. We handed the GE receipt over to customs agent upon exit. That is not TSA. Please read the GE info online; it tells you the procedure--the GE kiosk screen tells you to continue to customs. Since I had vanilla beans and some spices, I declared them on the blue form, but agent said it was unnecessary.

As for 60 GE kiosks--probably the total number for the entire MIA facility. I've never seen more than 8 in an airport terminal arrival.

I hope the rest of your trip was pleasant--looking forward to your reviews. (reminding me to do my Bali ones ASAP) Welcome home!!
