American Airlines Restructures Fares To Include Bag Fees, Perks In Ticket Price

I saw it but was confused. I have been pricing some AA trips and couldn't tell a difference in the pricing....

Basically they are calling it "choice" fares but they just bundled the fees into different choice levels, for example, if you took the regular economy ticket it would be $250 plue whateve rthe bag fee is, and additional cost if you want econ plu with extra legroom and you would have to pay the fee if you change your reservation, then there is choice essential which is actually the $250 plus $68 for free bag, early boarding & no change fee, then there is choice plus which is the $250 plus $88 which includes all the choice essentials plus bonus miles for FF - so now fares for economy will be on a 3 tier system - a bit confusing but just another way to make money ;-)

A way to make money, but also a way to save money. Two of the three choices incorporate free itinerary changes for far less than what the normal cost would be to change your itinerary once it's booked. The three tier system appears to offer passengers flexibility, if that's what they want. Although I don't fly American, I like the new price structure.
