We couldn't agree more with Andrew's choice for Lake Titicaca, Peru.....we loved the week we recently spent there, especially at the auction price we landed!
And to this day, we regret not jumping on the Amazon river cruise by Aqua Expeditions when Luxury first offered it.....procrastination can be such a wet blanket!

The Lake Placid Lodge (Lake Placid, New York) is in our neck of the woods in upstate New York and we have enjoyed a few nights there in its most beautiful Adirondack setting. Their rooms are beautiful and wonderfully comfortable in a rustic setting. Their food is heavenly and beautifully presented. No wonder they also garnered the Most Beautiful Setting Award.
We also fondly remember Amberley Castle in West Sussex, England. What an impressive way to spend a few nights in an authentic old English castle (I am talking about Middle Ages). The grounds are beautiful and complete with white peacocks, but the inside is truly stunning and offers all the creature comforts along with first rate, wonderful food.

I tend to agree with Omegaet. Andrew Harper still has its place, despite the internet. I love to pick up his travel magazine, and in some cases, his books, and I just start trying to find ways, how I can get to some of the places he describes.

i love andrew harper. do you get their annual book? i highly recommend their recommendations!

Additionally, it was AH information which ultimately became the 'tipping point' in making the decision to buy two (3) night auction packages at Hotel Titilaka http://andean-experience.com/ The AH insight provided a better appreciation of the property and the surrounding area than is generally available in most resources.
We look forward to the LL sales team continuing to pick off Harper reviewed properties and adding some or most of their selections in the future.

if you see Andrew Harper or LHW, you don't have to worry about the quality of the resort/property.
