Another airline bites the dust - Air Australia
Another Airline bites the dust - Air Australia
If you are scheduled to be a passenger on Air Australia, you will need to change your plans as the airline has reportedly shut down its operations effective immediately, due to it being unable to pay for fuel.
Thousands of passengers were left stranded in locations as far away as Phuket and Hawaii, and it will take days for those passengers to find their way home. Virgin Australia and Hawaiian Airlines reportedly offered special discount airfares to stranded passengers, while Air Asia X will supposedly charge stranded passengers only for taxes and fees.
Air Australia is the latest airline to cease operations. Spanair and Malév Hungarian Airlines are amongst the airline casualties which ceased operations earlier this year — and it is only mid-February.

And what is up with Malev? I noticed some information on AA's website that Malev was ceasing operations? We used to fly them in the 80s.
