Anyone Been There?

...so, it went like this:



At the gym this morning, my trainer was busting my hump (that's why I pay him...right)....so to catch a small break, I pointed to a beautiful young lady doing her routine and sporting quite a tan.....quite a TAN!



"Where did she get that tan (been cold here in FL and not too many people are sunning at the beaches)" I inquired.



"ME," announced my trainer.



"You," I questioned....what did you have to do with it?



"ME at Cancun," said the trainer.



"What? You and her were in Cancun," I asked.



"No....." said the trainer, " she spent a week with her guy at the ME resort in Cancun!"



Well, duh....I never heard of the place!



So I logged into Luxury Link.....and found out they are offering several interesting packages!



Anyone in the Community been to ME in Cancun......I'm not a big fan of Cancun, but this place could change my mind!

It's one of the Melia group (Spanish chain). They had a property or two that didn't fare well, but I can't recall which locale. They've been in The Canaries and Costa Del Sol, Marbella etc for lots of years. They are more known as the European version of timeshares. In a world of AI resorts like Cancun, I can see the lack of recognition.

kyshel...what I think is interesting about the ME Cancun is the Adult Month offerings in February. It would be worth the expenses involved just to see who shows up for these packages! I see the Gerber Group is involved in the bar scene at ME....so that another step into Fantasy World as well.



We would likely "max out" after three nights.....back to drinking Margaritas and eating chips and salsa in the downtown dives of old Cancun.

Well, after checking out the "adults only" specials...do celebs actually go to Cancun?? (asking self: Is there anyone famous I'd want to encounter there? uh, no...)
They did finish reconstructing the beach recently, tho.
The resort looks gorgeous!! and notches above anything else in Cancun, which to me, doesn't say much because it's still Cancun. What constitutes an adult at ME? 21? ack!!!
I'll take the fabulous food and locale/weather of Hacienda Tres Rios. It's quite a value compared to ME prices: AI w/options, champers and their famous tamarind margaritas!! (Don't forget the crickets!) private transfers to boot...

.......just looking over the items included in the Spice Package.....maybe I haven't looked deeply enough into the details of some of the other packages offered over the years.....but for some reason, this just seems out of character with Luxury Link.



However, let me quickly add the weekend at The Keating in San Diego was approaching, if not peering over the edge!
