Anyone have British Airways CC?
Hey,
Has anyone used the benefits from this British Airways credit card? I'm really interested in the companion ticket option. Has anyone here tried to use it?

Hi imbues
No I don't have the BA credit card, but I have already purchased business class tickets with a companion ticket option with our American Express Platinum Card. I think you would be better off getting AMEX, because then all airlines would be available instead of just one.

Unfortunately there is a charge for the AEP credit card. I think is is around $300. a year for membership. Is there a membership fee for the BA card?

Re: Anyone have British Airways CC?
Two2go, Wow! that's expensive for me. The BA card only has a $75 yearly charge and I was going to see if I can get it waved. I usually use one card at a time. Currently I use the amazon visa card. I get amazon gift certificates, which I use to buy books. We don't have any debt and I pay my CC in full monthly. I never pay interest or any fees for CCs.
I'm planning a trip to Italy with my Mother and I thought the free companion ticket would help her out. I might just get the BA card for that. You only have to use BA flights for foreign travel, domestic travel is with other airlines.

Re: Anyone have British Airways CC?
Imbues,
Before you commit yourself, perhaps you should check it out, because many times they ask you to purchase the first ticket at regular price. Maybe you may be better off buying your tickets to Europe with a charter or another airline. Your may end up with a better deal. Find out if you can spend your points earned with the BA CC to buy other items.

Re: Anyone have British Airways CC?
Hi imbues and two2go,
There is a Bank of America Accolades American Express Card. The annual fee is $299 but it gives you as an added bonus a free membership pass to the Priority Club, a $399 value. They also give you a free companion ticket, but the prices are tiered. Within the US the price is starting at $399 the companion ticket is free. To Europe it starts at $1299 and the companion ticket is free, and so on.... It also offers free travel insurance and car rental insurance, and more. You might want to check it out at www.bankofamerica.com

Hi lhbrown, I just saw you post. Thanks for the information. It seems to be above my means right now, but it's good to know.
