auctions for the Middle East

I was sorry to see that auctions for the Middle East have virtually gone. There is only one for Abu Dhabi and the ones they used to feature for Dubai are no longer available. When the few for Dubai were on,I used to keep checking to see if they were going to add to them, but sadly, that never happened, and now they have none at all. Please.please please, bring back auctions for Dubai. LL specialises in luxury hotels and resorts and in my opinion, there are very few places in the world that can beat Dubai for luxury accomodation.

So has Dubai beentaken off permanently or are we likely to see it come back as a destination?I reelly hope we do

I sympathize with you. I too have noticed that auctions for the Middle East have been dropped. I am in the same boat for Germany, Switzerland and Austria. These are countries I visit a lot and I find that auctions for these countries are few and far between and prices are still quite high. With the economic situation being what it is right now, you would think LL would have an easy time to snap up some great luxury properties at reduced rates....

maybe more auctions will become available for those destinations, now that we have mentioned how much we hope they return????? I totally agree with you when you say that in this economic downturn, hotels and resorts would be really keen to offer sites like LL lower prices.I regularly go on to another forum for Dubai and over the past few months many people have been commenting on how the hotel prices in Dubai have rocketed in the past year, but now everyone is noticing that they are starting to drop again and many hotels are actually giving incentives to book. Many are offering free nights or free half board, which are making the prices very attractive now.

I really hope LL does consider Dubai again and I also hope Travelfan, that you get more choice and more favourable prices for the ones you want too.
