B en B in Taos NM is not what LL advertises it to be. We bought a 4 day vacation and left after 2days.The exeptional view was a paking lot with old cars and Mc Donald has a better breakfast.

Thanks for the heads-up. We too were looking at this property for a vacation stay in the South-West. Looked good on LL site. Will now check out other properties.

Taos is a really odd place--like a town lost in the 50s hippie era, many palces to stay are basic . We rented a house in downtown Taos some years ago that was --well, nice enough--but they had a problem with someone sneaking in at night and using the hot tub. Naked. It's a really interesting are a with great mountains and deserts rigth there to enjoy--but do your research.

Good idea about doing your research! We were in Taos in Dec - last month. We found the Taos ski valley properties to be exceptional. The ski valley reminded us of a young Beaver Creek or Vail. Chalet type architecture and very quaint. The restaurant right in the middle of ski valley shops (lost dog? can't recall the name) but it was GREAT new Mexican cuisine. We ate there 2 times and took green chilie sauce to go.The ski valley is within easy driving distance from town but worlds apart in elevation and ambiance. The Taos Valley ski areais primarily family owned - now lots of new condo owners etc but their ski central reservations does a wonderful job - ask for Marta
ski central phone#505 776-9550.
They have ski packages available - lodging with hot tubs etc We did not ski this time but definitely will in the future. The ski shop in town does a brisk ski rental business too.Happy Travels...Funtimes

Thanks for the specific info. We plan a spring break time trip to Santa Fe and Taos and hope the snow is still great. Your suggestions will help us ensure a great trip. Cheers...Marolyn

Reizen75, thanks for being honest and posting what's probably the first negative hotel review I've read on here. It's a lot more difficult to be critical than to write a positive review! Did you complain to the LuxuryLink people about your experience? I'd be interested to hear their response.....

I've always heard Wonderful things about Taos, and I knowmany people who have been. I am surprised by the negativity. After my parents visited Taos, they debated moving there, they said it was beautiful. Even Julia Roberts has her main residence there and LOVES it. I am going this year, and I'll let you know what I discover.Until then.....

You will love it! As I mentioned earlier in this blog We had a great time and - There is nothing like new mexican cuisine -a bit different from traditional mexican food try enchiladas "christmas style" you will get one with green sauce and one with red sauce if 3 are serve3d you may even get a sour cream sauce The green chile - chileVerde is excellent try Taosonians - a local hang out or the place up the mountain at the ski hill its called something like the lost dog. Have Fun ...Funtimes
