02-22-2012, 05:44 PMBest View/Location?
After just reading this year's Gold List in Conde Nast Traveler
Gold List 2012: The World's Best Hotels, Resorts and Cruise Lines : Gold List : Conde Nast Traveler,
I realized that I guess the magazine doesn't organize its categories the way they used to.
I used to like how they rated the best hotels based on rooms, service, and my personal favorite, location/view. We had a topic on this once on the LL board too. I used to use this as one of my determinants for where I wanted to travel.
Anyone want to submit their favorites for best view/location?
My fave is Hotel Salto Chico--Torres del Paine Park, Chile.

Probably a tie between Hotel Salto Chico and the Cliffs Preserve in Patagonia- Ω -

I was reading the Conde Nast issue on "the best" and saw that costa Rica Expeditions was rated #2 under tour companies - since I am leaving March 6 for CR and part of my CR trip is with them - I hope they live up to this rating, although I have to admit that all my communications with them so far have been pretty great!
So many nice views - Laguna Eco Lodge in Guatemala had a wonderful view of lake Atitlan from the room balcony. On one of my Mexico trips, I had a great view of the Pyramid of the magician at Uxmal from my room in the Lodge at Uxmal (Mayland tours - LL should get these guys and have some packages - the Lodge at Uxmal and the Lodge at Chichen Itza are really very nice places!)Roam if you want to, roam around the world...........
