Re: Bidding against yourself
I'd like to know more about your trip, please. We like details like rooms descriptions, likes/dislikes, service, etc. So, if you get a chance--write on! Thanks!

kapserphilip, if you live in the US, just pick up the phone and call Nancy Taylor at 1-888-297-3299 and explain your problem.kapserphilip wrote:
As far as I read the rules, they do not outline the issue. But even if I am mistaken,I see no reason why LL does not reply to my e-mails indicating where in the rules the situation is outlined.

Re: Bidding against yourself
Hi, sorry if I offended you,. I really didn't understand how you did it. I hope you can come to some arrangement with LL. Sorry for your loss.
At least the trip was great.

No, I did not have two accounts. I had and have one account and after having made a (first) bid on this account, I entered a higher bid on the same account with no third party bidding between the two bids. Ifyou follow this procedure on e.g.eBaythe second bid will not be "activated" unless a third party bidder outbids your first bid.

The trip went to Punta Cana and we stayed at Tortuga Bay which in my opinion is a very nice hotel. Great room and great service.

Hi Kapserphilip
I wouldn't give up on Nancy Taylor, your e-mail will be answered. You can also call the 800# at LL & leave a message in her box in reference to you e-mail. Many times when transfered to her line she will answer if she is not on another call.

Hi two2go,
I must admit I have given up. I have e-mailed her a number of times over the past 6 months without receiving a single reply. Last time I even had the management "cc" which did not change the situation.

Re: Bidding against yourself
Your inquiry has been directed by the moderators to the Customer service department for review.
We regret any delay in response as it is truly our goal to serve you quickly and efficiently.
As previously posted by other community members, the "high bidder" username is posted on each auction offer.
However for security purposes, Luxury Link does not publish our final bid history as personal user information (email addresses, phone numbers, etc) would be exposed to the public.
It has also been posted that Luxury Link's auction system does not support "bidding by proxy" or "maximum" bidding.
As such, each additional bid submitted will replace your previous bid and increase the new required minimum bid.
That said, however due to increased customer interest/inquiries,
I want to pass on that Luxury Link management is currently investigating the implementation of this bidding feature.
If such an action is
approved, there will be an official announcement on the site.
Until then, please continue to place bids according to the current bidding policies.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact me directly at: [email protected]
for additional
assistance.

Re: Bidding against yourself
Hello,
Personally I prefer the bidding style on LL to the proxy bidding on Ebay, which is too vulnerable to abuse by snipers. I can't count the number of times that I've been sniped literally in the last seconds of an auction, by someone who bids just one or two dollars more than I bid . It's very annoying!
Cheers,
Julian

Hi Jashermd
I second that! Also I know that the person on the other end is trying just as hard as I am at winning. I wish the rules would stay just as they are as far as this topic is concerned.
