Brirish Airways
If anyone is interested, since B.A have called off their strikes here in the UK, there are now some excellent "offers" on a lot of their flights just now due to people cancelling who assumed the strike would go ahead. They had planned on striking on several occasions in February and March. Don't know if this would only be of interest to us in the UK or not?

B.A. is my favorite airline. What is the weather like for the next couple of months? Where would you suggested we travel around this time of year? Do you have a special place in the UK?

Ofcourse I have to be biased and say Scotland but I am sorry to say the weather is not that great at this time of the year. It is not too cold but there is a good chance of rain. If you go on to the ba.com website they have details of all their reduced flights.

Re: Brirish Airways
Hello,
The weather in the south of England should be decent at least a good percentage of the time. Days usually start grey and overcast but become clear and sunny (if crisp on the temperature side of things). Great weather for strolling in the country or visiting some of our historic sights.
London is always a great option -- lots to see and do, and plentiful day trip opportunities as well. I'd encourage you to come out to Oxford (45 minutes by train) and spend a day -- the warm Bath stone of the colleges glows under the sun and a stroll in the Magdalen deer park is always enjoyable. The deer are very relaxed and will come quite close. If you decide to visit Oxford, PM met -- I'd be happy to show you around.
Cheers,
Julian

Hi Jashermd
How nice of you to offer. We have never visited London, but if we do we'll drop you a line. I was looking at the B.A. site, but I didn't really find the deal I was hoping for, maybe the rates are different forus Canadians. Nevertheless, in the near future we are hoping to visit the UK.

Hello Twotogo,
I've had the pleasure of meeting a number of people from other travel forums who have come over to the UK, and would be happy to do the same with people from LL.
Aren't there inexpensive trips from Canada to the UK with Zoom?
Cheers,
Julian

At the moment we are enjoying a mild and dry spell of weather - who knows how long it will last.
If you have not been before, London is probably the best place to start because there is a lot to see, and if you have enough time, plenty of day trips to other places of historic interest - Brighton, Canterbury, Windsor etc. Additionally, you have the delights of the capital city to savour. It also depends on what it is you are going for, because each of ourcities offer a variety of things to tourists. Let me know what's your pleasure, and I am sure that I, or one of the other contributors will be happy to offer additional suggestions.

Re: Brirish Airways
Hi J,
I'vevisited the Zoom website, & I must admit those are very good prices. Have you ever flown Zoom? We have used another company AirTransatout of Montreal to Italy. They are also charters with reasonable rates. They have a Club section at the front of the aircarft (their business class) where the seat allowance is larger, meals included, toiletsfor that section (section holdsapprox. 20 passengers),& separate check-in. It is not a buisness class like B.A. or Air Canada, but it is very comfortable.Their website is www.airtransat.com. Our UK friends on LL seem to be very warm & friendly people, thank-you for your insights, and wanting to share the place youare allso proud of.
