01-07-2007, 03:01 PMRe: budget but memorable honeymoon, need help?
Hotel Punta Islita looks pretty nice, and it definetly is much cheaper than many of the other places. I think the budget I had first mentioned may be higher than it needed to be. After talking with our parents and each other we will probably want to stay under $4000 total. But Punta Islita is definetly within the budget. Anyone have anything inside the US that's somewhat secluded and a nice honeymoon spot?? Just trying to see all my options.
Thanks for the input.

1645073...check the auctions forthe The Raleigh, Miami Beach for four night than drive over to the west coast and do four night at the Gasparilla Inn on Boca Grande Island....you get sunshine, beaches and some night time action on South Beach.....still within your budget.1645073 wrote:

Re: budget but memorable honeymoon, need help?
Hi O,
Good reco on the Raleigh. I'ver been eyeing that deal myself for a nice 4 day weekend. I also noticed that in SoBe you can do a bid per night $250 at The Shore Club and also for double that a stay at The Delano....
Hi 1645073,
You might also want to check out the LL deal on Las Brisas Alcapulco http://www.luxurylink.com/auctions/a...?id=157423&nav=
You get your own private plunge pool room and you can't beat the price...just an idea.

1645073 & 7....all of the SoBe LL properties are extremely well priced (this is my backyard)....but the dining costs may have a negative impact on the budget 1645073 is facing.enewseven wrote:

As for Las Brisas....great destination (the property is probably 45 to 50 years old, but has been updated and renovated as the years have passed), sits on top of the hill with thebest views of the bay....also includes a signature pink jeep for running around the city [I took one of my previous wives there many years ago....my present wife and I have also been there and had a great time]....the restaurants at Las Brisas are top notch, the Beach Club is located right on the bayand the night life in the city is high tempo.
1645073 may find the costs of flying into Acapulco a bit costly this time of year and will probably need to change flights twice, considering his departure point. You can pack for a week in a carry-on...a couple of tee-shirt and swim suits (no swim suits needed at your private pool) and a couple of tops and slacks will do it (use the laundry service at the hotel....it's a little expensive but easier than dealing with extra luggage).- Ω -

Re: budget but memorable honeymoon, need help?
Congratulations! You asked for suggestions in the US also - We suggest Destin Florida, white sand beaches and fairly inexpensive due to military ops there
Palm Coast FL near Flagler Beach FL is nice also and within driving distance of Daytona beach (a novelty - you can drive on the beach) or our best bet Palm Coast and Flagler are also near St Augustine Fl - beautiful beaches, and historical significance, interesting shops, pubs etc
You did not seem to want Carolinas but Litchfield by the Sea near Myrtle Beach is wonderful - Brookgreen gardens a nice day trip and Huntington Beach State Park
The Florida Keys is always an option - our favorites Lime Tree on Key Largo and Conch key Cottages on Conch Key the beaches are not sandy but you can do alot of exploring or boating - rent your own skiff for private time
Smith Mountain Lake in Moneta Virginia is beautiful and near many historical sites -(Jefferson's Summer Home Poplar Forest), Blue Ridge Parkway , Richmond, Monticello etc Happy planning...funtimes

has anyone heard of the Rock House Hotel in Jamaica?? It is by far the cheapest of any of the places I have read about, but I am not sure how 'secluded' it would be for a honeymoon, and of course they don't necessarily have a honeymoon package.

Take a look at Le Mansion Inn, Costa Rica. You can use miles for most ofone person's air. Costa Rica is one of the best buys available here, but some small packages in Europe are very reasonable. With so many deals to be had, perhaps drop your nights to 4-5 (one is in the air over the pond) and re-thing. Good travels and best of life to you both!
