Buyer Or Repeat Buyer From LuxuryLink?
Members...are you a buyer or a repeat buyer from LL? If you are a buyer, especially a repeat buyer, how do you rate the buying experience in terms of value for money spent and the quality of the actual destination(s)?
We havebeen buying auction items from LL for just over five years. We were firstattracted, by the potential opportunity to buy a high quality holiday destination at a deeply discounted price (we were skeptical because of prior poor experiences with other "cheap deal" sites). Although some members have noted a couple of exceptions, we have never been disappointed with any of the auction packages we have purchased.
Most of our purchases have been "add-on" destinations (three or four extra days at a different location)to holidays we have already planned. From this perspective, we consider the LL auctions excellent buys.
We have noticed a moderate increase in starting prices for several of the auctions (especially those destination we have purchased in the past). However, for the most part,it appears LL continues to offer exceptional opportunities.

Re: Buyer Or Repeat Buyer From LuxuryLink?
Not to sound too much like a commercial for Luxury Link BUT... I have been using LL for about 5yrs as well. I really can't believe my good fortune finding this site. I've probably bought at least 10 trips and with one exception (the property was right on a highway) the properties have all been really wonderful - upscale and luxurious with outstanding service. It also seems that because the package was through LL they tend to thrown in even more amenities. I don't get it but I enjoy it.
Another thing I like is that I will just start to search auctions until something hits me for one reason or another. I end up going places (Just got back from Morocco) that I NEVER would have even thought of going to otherwise.
I have been curious about something, as I've said I have purchased about 10 trips, I thought that was a lot until I saw that someone said they were on #14. How many trips have you purchased?

Syrene-1....seven or eight trips and several items from LuxeLife. No bad experiences. The LL staff (especially Nancy Taylor in Customer Service) has been helpful one or twice in clearing away a couple of "bumps." Because we "shop" every deal we consider on LL, we have alwaysfound our purchases to be good values.Where did you stay in Morroco?

Purchases from Luxe Life have been consistently of high quality plus high value using LL. Items of designer jewelry and bags have been fun additions to my travel goodies. For trips, I have learned to bid, and hopefully win, early and often. I have seen destinations increase in price while even decreasing in time and have been delighted with all purchases. Cheers...Marolyn

Hello O,
I haven't been buying from LL as long (or as often) as you have, but I've had only positive experiences so far and the auctions have been excellent value for money (particularly for European and UK destinations).
My European trips are often long weekends staying solely at the LL properties. I'll usually choose a destination first and then look to see what LL has to offer in that area. I've found LL's offerings in Italy (especially Rome and Florence) to be particularly good.
In the UK, there are often good options for London, and the country hotels in the UK and are generally very good as well. I'm still trying to find ten friends who will go in with me for a weekend in one of those country estates!
My trips to Africa are a bit trickier because you have to watch the exchange rate, but the offerings from Twelve Apostles and LQF are consistently good value. I'll often combine an LL offering in Cape Town / the Winelands with a safari in the Sabi Sands or Botswana. I;m looking forward to seeing more East African offerings.
I have noticed prices creeping up for some of the packages I've bought in the past, but they still remain quite good value for money, and LL is one of my first stops when looking for a hotel.
Cheers,
Julian

I have been buying from LL for years. I am extremely happy with the trips. Its interesting how we started. We travelled a lot to different unique spots. When I saw LL offer some of the properties we have visited, I was impressed. For example, we started Punta Islita about 7 years ago. Costa Rica wasn't as big a destination as it is now. We were glad we were able to bid on inexpensive properties at that time. (Though, we have seen the price of bidding increase.) The staff at LL is extremely helpful. Also, we always work with the properties beforehand so as not to avoid disappointment with dates and times.

We are amongst some very lucky travellers thanks to LL. We are definitely repeat buyers, and would be lost without LL. Before finding this site I remember paying full prices when travelling. Now in a year we end up spending the same dollar value, but end up with one or two trips extra for the same budget. That's a deal you can't beat.

Re: Buyer Or Repeat Buyer From LuxuryLink?
We've only made one purchase SO FAR, and are always looking. My husband is an airline pilot--the LL opportunities are endless. I'm self-employed, so my boss (yours truly) gives me the time off when I NEED to travel. Does "junkie" come to mind?
We bought the Hotel Hoffmeister (Prague) stay and upgraded to a 2 floor suite--I will be hard-pressed to find similar accomodations, but with LL, it shouldn't be impossible!! As much as I love Prague, I'm still keeping and eye on 2 other pkgs--choosing might be tough.
My husbandhasjust recoveredfrom a long illness and is quite well now, so once he gets gets back to full pay and that awful job of having to fly overseas to most of Europe's finest cities, we'll be bidding and buying and going and flying...
Kupu Kupu Barong is on our wishlist for Bali--I wish they'd bring the 8 night pkg back, tho. It really had all the trimmings for a generous smidge more.
I frequently cite offers in our company travel forum, so I can share with employees when there is an exceptionally nice deal. There are some incredible deals, like La Bastide Provence, Villa Grazioli Roma, etc that should be shared!
Carry on..."wherever you go, there you are"
