ps-but please keep the properties where ALL is included. I do not like the additional taxes to be paid to the property.....

I saw the new one in Panama also - I would stay in the tent - we are tempted for next March - this is the 1st package I have seen so far that has dates into 2014! But it is only 4 nights - I would like to add the overwater bungalows that the other Panama package does!

dhd--that Panama property is extremely tempting to us, too. Somehow I missed that one--thanks for the mention. I could do the same thing and add the bungalows. Or the canal resort LL used to offer. Good addition LL!

We are looking at this package as well...however, it appears to be in the early stages of development (and I like to allow for some 'experience' time before checking into new properties). We think a 2014 date probably makes more sense.....also, there is no A/C in the tents...just hate humidity when sleeping! The other suites look a little out of place with the surrounding environment.

The Resort at Isla Palenque looks like a new residential development starting up in Panama with a small resort operation. I agree with -O-. Never like to arrive at a new hotel operation until they have some operating time under their belt.

A/C in tents? Have you ever stayed in a tent with A/C?

AC does not enter the equation for me. Sometimes it is nice to stay in a brand new place before everyone else discovers it!

I grew up camping and sleeping on picnic tables when necessary. These days I want AC in a luxury tent! We loved Garonga Safari Lodge but it was very warm at times. Made afternoon naps very sticky...

The Resort At Isla Palenque in Chiriqui, Panama - Hotel Travel Deals | Luxury Link looks interesting, but I would also wait until the place has been operating for several months, I hate the idea of being a paying guest for the staff to use as 'lab rats' while they are working out their kinks. This looks like a big time residential development for rich 'expats' with a small hotel operation.

Could be a lot of fun for a few days, playing with all of the water toys.
