Hi, I don't think anything is fishy. Have you never noticed on ebay, how people sometimes pay more for something through the auction system then the buy-it-now system. People get caught up in the bidding and forget to double check or keep in mind an established rate. So yes, people are that dumb sometimes!

This isn't the first time I've seen this happen -- I've seen bidding on the mystery auctions go quite a bit higher than the Buy It Now package at the same property, and the same goes for normal auctions. I suspect it's probably just a case of someone getting caught up in bidding (I'm sure that most people who have bid on eBay have occasionally fallen into this trap -- I know I have, though thankfully it wasn't a very expensive item!).
