Coca Cola - Venezia
At long last it's easier to find a Coca Cola in Venice, Italy:
http://observers.france24.com/en/con...ce-restoration
Thanks to the generous 'donation' ($2.7 million) by Coca Cola, we can get a bottle or is it a can, at one or more of the sixty conveniently positioned vending machines placed throughout the city [nothing like strolling though St. Mark's Square sipping some fizz].
Can't wait to snap a few photos of the Bridge of Sighs with the famous Coca Cola logo in the background!

We don't drink soda - yet another bad thing we export to other countries along with McDonalds, etc. ;-)

Yuck! I don' drink the stuff and I don't like it when American companies ruin the local scenery like this.

Although I drink "Coca Light" when abroad, I think this is ugly & disgraceful.

Great that they have given the $$, but do they have to destroy it to save it? GROSS!
So here we are, finally having time & $$ to travel after working & taking care of aging relatives, and we can go to Venice and other places. To be greeted with THAT? There are plenty of ways Coke could have let everyone know of their generosity without putting up that monstrosity to cover the scaffolding. In this case, Coke is NOT the pause that refreshes and brands itself as leaving a very bad taste to the eyes.
It would have been better to cover it with a faux picture of what the finished project would look like, or just leave the scaffolding - at least it's honest & one can see through it, instead of looking like a giant billboard.
This art history major is not amused. Glad Sony did not get away with leaving floor to ceiling banners in the Sistine Chapel. Guess we'll have to check out all these places before we go to make sure we can see them instead of bill boards.
