Conde Nast TRAVLER August 2008
Luxury Link got a nice mention in this issue on page 125 in the article on World's Top TRAVEL SPECIALISTS:
"LUXURYLINK.COM offers upscale hotel packages, cruises, and tours both at fixed discount rates and through on-line bidding. You can often find the best deals among the soon-to-end auctions."- Ω -

Hi O,
"LUXURYLINK.COM offers upscale hotel packages, cruises, and tours both at fixed discount rates and through on-line bidding. You can often find the best deals among the soon-to-end auctions." Of course, we knew that already. The only problem with the T&L article is that it will give us regulars more competition. The secret is out, and has been out for some time. Unfortunately, LL prices have risen along with it.

I think any publicity luxury link receives is beneficial to all of us. The more people who visit the site andparticipate in buying from luxury link, the more potential exists to attract for advertiser. I really don't think the rising costs of the packages or the increases in fee are associated with increased exposure to the public.

jsattapr2 and michael_choe_ll I hope you are both right, if only it would help to keep package price increases in check.

LL_travel fan is absolutely right. The Conde Naste shout out is great for Luxury Link, but not necessarily great for the members. When more people are interested in purchasing a limited item, the price of that item will certainly rise. If there are a hundred people in the L.L. community, prices will be lower than if there are a thousand people in the community. It's simple economics.

thepiranha, how can you or LL_Travelfan possibly arrive at a correlation between an increasing number of members in the VIP Community or the non-member customers and the pricing structure of auctions or the fee structure charged by luxury link?
It simply doesnt follow!
If anything, a failure to grow in size or worse, a reduction in exposure to increasing numbers of potential buyers will surely result in higher prices and fewer options for us in the future.
The premise of this web site is simple. More visitors should result in more sales. More sales should result in more properties being interested in participating with advertising and auction packages.
Personal success in acquiring an auction as the lowest price, requires a bit of luck, planning or experience and possibly reviewing the sales history of the packages.
Your recent purchase in Mexico would be a good example of how the system works most favorably. You obviously did a little research and you were able to acquire your package at the minimum offering price. With no competitive bidding and utilizing your certificate, you secured a fabulous deal!
This is not the first time LL_Travelfan has discussed keeping this web site a secret in hopes others would not join, bid and buy.
It is a completely fallacious line of thinking without any defensible arguments and no one would understand this better than michael choe, a senior business analyst for luxury link.
thepiranha, we will all be better served, if we do everything possible to spread the good word to all of our friends and associates, as I am certain you will do upon your return from Mexico.
