Sorry...on phone with aa trying to find our bags!!

El Silencio and Gaia were both amazing. Not a long drive to El Silencio; only 1.5 hours on easy and scenic roads. What an absolutely amazing property. Great accommodations with working gas fireplaces. It was quite cold so we had the fireplace on alll the time. The weather was typical cloud forest weather; misty, chilly, and constantly changing. The lodge and surroundings reminded me of The Cliffs in Patagonia. I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to stay at this place. Our eco-concierge, Andrey was a wealth of knowledge.. The food was so perfect. Very natural and beautifully prepared. Most of the food was grown on the grounds. The vegetables and fruits were perfect. I really had a great time.....oh.......they found our bag....got to talk to the rep and tell them the contents (coffee and wine!).....will finish shortly....

bonniejoy03...how about a nice detailed write-up El Silencio...either here or in the CR section. Sounds like you had a fabulous stay.

Bags were delivered to the house...all intact!! Coffee and wine...weo! Now time to get ready for the holidays. Unfortunately, I have to work this week and next so I don't have too much holiday spirit.......I hope to get a post going about Gaia and El Silencio very soon. I was quite impressed with both properties. I had written off CR as being too touristy and was wrong.

bonniejoy03, can't believe you left cold weather to vacation in (not quite as) cold weather and then returned home to really cold weather.

Hi T...Manual Antonio was quite warm. We stayed at Gaia....lovely! We were able to go to the pool and beach. CR has been having strange weather. They were hit with hurricane Tomas a few months ago. Major damage and weather changes. We had heard that some areas of CR are having their coldest weather in 15 years. Even though El Silencio was a little chilly, it was fine with the gas fireplace and outdoor hot tub. At least we didn't have as much rain as they had a few weeks ago!! oh..and ps....at least no snow there!!
