Cotton House, Mustique & Turtle Beach, Barbados
Well....just back one week from a fantastic getaway to Mustique and Barbados. Cotton House resort is wonderful! It was our first time staying there but our 2nd time on the island. Service is fantastic, food is great, and accomodations were lovely! I cannot believe the value for the price (it is an LL auction.) Our dinners were around $250 each evening but included in the package. WOW!!!! What was the nicest part of the trip was that Cotton House was not stuffy, uppity, etc. We wore shorts and bathing suits most of the time on the trip. (the other times were tennis attire or casual clothes for dinner.) If anyone would like more info, I would love to share.
I'm already looking forward to going back.
PS- Great tennis also!!!!

I would love to here more about Mustique (also, where else did you stay on the island). We are think about Firefly in January. We love Cotton House as well, but it's a bit out of our range, and all of th LL offers thus far have been for use before Christmas.
Thanks,
D

Hi D
Mustique was perfect. My husband and I described it as a "Fantasy Island" or Disney World for adults. Is is so pretty, quaint, safe, fun, relaxing. We do not like big populated places and this was perfect for us. Firefly looks great. We had lunch there and enjoyed it. Beautiful location. The price seems high but you receive your meals and a mule (plus, their mules are really unique!). I would consider staying there (or their property on Bequia.) I had requested LL to look at adding it to their offerings. It would be a great auction. Cotton House is not out of your range if you look at the auction. Check out the auction again. I believe the dates were extended to next summer (Sept 2009.) We are seriously thinking of going again.

Cool idea! Have to consider it before I get too old. I don't know how long I can do this considering I am 46!! (though this handstand looks pretty darn good!)

*whistles* nice legs...

Thanks for sharing your experience. The offers for cotton house always looked really good. I'm glad you really enjoyed yourselves.
I hope to be able to fly away someday. I'm still working on my husband. I just bought that Melrose DC package really cheap and one way plane tickets from NY to Washington DC. Now all he needs is some Xanax... If it woks out then I hope to be on my way to exotic and not so exotic far away places next year.

Hi Imbues. Can't wait to hear about the Melrose. When are you going? We really enjoyed the Fairmont AND they allow pups so we could all go and have a good time. The Melrose allows pets but it is a $100 non-refundable fee. (I think it is pretty steep). We are still trying to plan our next DC getaway. Probaably will go in mid-March.
Good luck with the flight. Why one-way? Are you taking the train back?
Keep on travelling!!!

Hi Bonniejoy,
Wow, $100 for a pet that is steep. We are planning on the last week of April, the weather is supposed to be perfect at that time. We are only flying one way in case my husband has too hard of a time with it. This will be his first time flying, he's gotten out of it until now. We plan on taking the train back, but maybe we will rent a car.

April will be great. April is typically cherry blossem time. Not sure which part of the month is prime time to see them. Enjoy!
