Destination section
Hello everyone. I was just under the destination section (Caribbean, Central America, Worldwide, etc.) and didn't see a lot of posts? Is anyone still using the specific destionation area to request travel information or to gather information? I had found this section more user friendly because it narrows down my particular destination. It seemed as if this section was more popular before the format changed. Any other opinions or suggestions?

I'd love to see more traffic over there. I started a couple of threads awhile ago, which quickly sank like stones.
I think folks use this section as the primary place for questions, but it would be nice if we could "spread the wealth" around.

Re: Destination section
Hi Bonniejoy,
I used to use the destination section all the time. Now that it has expanded (which I did agree was a good idea) I don't get over there as much because it is set up so you have to click on every separate thread in order to find out what's new. If there was one easy place to go to see which of the destinations have new messages I would use it a lot more. Right now I'll occasionally click on the Africa, Asia and Worldwide threads (since those are my interests right now) and maybe every few weeks I'll click on the others. I agree, it's pretty dead there! I think that creating a more user-friendly homepage that shows all new messages in all of the sections would be a simple fix that would create more traffic.

Hi:
I agree. I replied to someone a few days ago on the destination side and then was unable to even find the thread again without a search for my name.
I like the idea of destinations, just wish I could figure out how to get there more easily.

Re: Destination section
I agree 100% with Classenam and bbushell. I visit these boards almost every day and rarely go into the destination area. Not very user-friendly in my opinion. I don't want to have to work so hard if I'm not looking for anything specific.
It's so much easier to go into the General Q&A and see what's new.

Re: Destination section
Classenam good idea about showing new messages I used to go to the destination section also but others rarely posted there so I ended up only using the destination section to gain info on locations that I was considering but had never been to before. Perhaps we can all agree to start posting there more regularily

Re: Destination section
Funtimes et al
I am so happy that someone raised this topic.
I only post new in the destination section, as I thought that the Moderators were intending to move all of these 'place specific' threads to the country or destination section of the blog. They had started, but if they moved all the Italy and Safari type threads, then the destination section would make more sense, and perhaps we'd all find what we wanted in a logical fashion.
They have loads to do in making order out of our potential chaos.... I am hoping that they'll find a way to do that, because for me, the logic of destination makes enormous sense.... but if we don't work within whatever 'structure' is developed, we'll all be trying to find information in sections like "General Travel Q & As" on Venice, when there is a rarely used board already for Italy....
(hope and dream....)
kind regards
