DKNY event
Hello LL community I was pleased to receive an invitation to Donna karan spring collection through Luxury Link. Unfortunately the date is so close that I can not possibly arrange travel in one week PLEASE LL if any further wonderful opportunities are available could you please allow at least two weeks to arrange decent airfare? I'd love to hear if anyone is planning on attending - this is one time it would be preferable to live in or around New York Please keep us posted on what your thoughts are on the first LL event ...Funtimes

Re: DKNY event
Hey funtimes, So this is only one time it would be preferable to live around the center of the world?
You do know that New Yorkers believe that their town is the center of the world? Haha...
*pout* I didn't get an invite to consider,
BTW Are you from the west coast?

Re: DKNY event
Hi imbues and funtimes,
Imbues you should have gotten the invitation, especially since you live fairly close to NYC. I got mine, but we were already on our way to Florida and we could not make the date. I wonder if anybody from the LL community did attend??? and if so, how was it???

Hi L
What do you mean you could not make the date, & you are wondering if someone made it? Is it already over...I never got the invitation! Oh well, better luck next time.

Re: DKNY event
Hello The event is next week I am pouting too imbues I would have enjoyed that trip and DKNY collection. Sorry about the New York note - but having lived in Chicago for many years we are tired of traffic and noise Our lives have changed radically moving to rural Wisconsin - no stop light in our town. Living on the water is great - Eagles all the time & wonderful wildlife We still enjoy an occasional city excusion although I've not been able to convince my husband to come to New York yet - I've been several times and really find it amazing as a tourist but do wonder how you live there - You must be young and full of enegy to endure NY for any length of time in my opinion ...apologies to New Yorkers but I'll keep the peace and quiet beauty of country life. PS we are only minutes from the college town of Madison so it's not really the end of the earth here - Our AZ getaway helps in winter Take Care and please let us know how the event went ...Funtimes

Re: DKNY event
Hey Funtimes, Where your living now sounds wonderful to me. I don't live in the city anymore, but I would if I were very wealthy. I prefer the country over the city, but enjoy the amenities of the city. I only live about an hour from downtown and try to go in at least a few times a year. I was born and raised in and around NYC and it is, of course, the center of the world to us.
True New yorkers do tend to believe it is the center of the world.
A colleague of mine once said that, as a child raised in Brooklyn, he thought that beyond Manhattan the street numbers must be in the thousands and millions. Haha
It is ironic that NYS has the largest park land in the country,

I'm going to try to stop by for the very last part of it. Sadly, 6-8pm is a little early for me. You know us NYers always working until late. If I go, I will make sure to give the entire skinny to the community.
