Fear of not getting any or reasonable air to destination
I'm very interested in bidding on Luxury Link. HOWEVER, I'm afraid of winning and then finding out that I can't get ANY or at least reasonable airfare for the avaibale dates! How do bidders deal with that?
Do any offers include air, or it that impossible??
Re: Fear of not getting any or reasonable air to destination
Many of us have had similar questions. I think we consider the following:
length of auction validity--some are good for great extent--some are short-lived, but all
may be flexible (contact prior to bidding)
actual availability dates for LL pkg use prior to bidding--call or email
is there time to research the airfare possibilities before I bid?
do I have frequent flyer miles for an airline--or similar program that I might use? like a "free" companion certificate if I buy one on reg air?
the key is contacting the property before (unless it's a mystery auction that you can be sure of the location...but if you have the city you can pinpoint fares before that final bid)
There are some tremendous bargains to be had, but, alas, if the transport is outrageous...
so, do your homework--if you can take a chance or make an intelligent choice, great. you'll get hooked like may of us. BUT, like I always say--I hope you don't bid against me!
Keep checking--other members will add to this thread shortly.
Good luck and welcome

Hi Linda,
As with any auction, you will run a little risk when purchasing an LL auction. These auctions are best if you have a little flexibility. I agree with Kyshel, it doesn't hurt to do your homework. Contact the property and find out if they have availablity the dates in which you are interested. Do some searches at www.kayak.com and www.expedia.com to find out what kind of flights are available. LL doesn't currently offer airline, which makes sense to me as buyers are located worldwide and it seems the logistics to those kinds of packages would interefere with the overall quality. If you can find availablity and airfare, the LL auctions are definitely the way to go!
Re: Fear of not getting any or reasonable air to destination
Hi lindakes,
The others have already given you good advice, as I think many of us struggle with this to some extent. For me, it's all part of the puzzle, trying to put all the pieces together. Validating availability at the property for the dates you have in mind is key. Then you know what flights will cost for those dates before bidding. I'm usually trying to work in a flight using FF miles and try to put the flights on hold for a few days while I bid. Then if I win, I can try to book the dates with the hotel before completing the flight arrangements. In any case, good luck and I hope you find the deal you're seeking!

Wow! Thank you for the responses to this thread! I can clearly see that LL attracts an intelligent and thoughtful following. Must be formidable to bid against this group, but I'm tempted to try! Again, thanks.
Re: Fear of not getting any or reasonable air to destination
there are plenty of trips to bid--just not against me, ok? welcome and I hope you get the package of your dreams and reasonable air to get you there!
Re: Fear of not getting any or reasonable air to destination
It is a little tricky to coordinate flight availability/affordability with the choice of a destination. There is another post about places that LL should add. I think they are fairly responsive. I remember writing in that I would like to see more destinations in Madrid and soon after, many new destinations for Madrid were added. Perhaps it was my request. Perhaps it was just well timed? Anyone else have this kind of positive responsive experience on feedback?
