07-10-2007, 04:38 PMFirst time bidding on LL..need assistance
This is the first time I will attempt a bid on LL. We want to bid on a Best Buy package, and when I called the property to see if the two nights we want to stay are available for the auction, they respond they are not authorized to give the information. We have 2-3 days we need to fill up on our vacation, and I dont want to risk bidding on something I cannot use due to their availibilty. Any suggestions, or am I just not in the LL "know"? Thanks, kpdphoto

Wow. kpdphoto. Thanks for posting. I have never heard of the property not giving the information to you especially a Best Buy package. First, I would call back and ask for availability and tell them you have an LL package to book. (maybe the 1st person you talked to wasn't very good in customer service.) If they still will not tell you about availability, PLEASE call the LL office and express the steps you have tried to take to book this property. I agree with you about not risking bidding until you can check availability. I have never had this experience and I really hope it is an isolated case or just a misunderstanding. PLEASE post back as to your outcome.

Hi kpdphoto
I agree with all the advice that bonniejoy has given you. I don't know how that resortexpects youto book. I only hope that the person you spoke to was not aware of LL. I would be very interested to know the name of the resort. Keep us up to date with your progress, very interested in knowing the outcome.

That is quite unusual not to give you availability. I would suggest trying the property website - often you can book online or definitely at least contact them. This will leave you with a written reply as to available dates. If you do not get anywhere through the website - try faxing the property. Often the written word is given a better and more permanent respose, Good Luck ...Funtimes

Re: First time bidding on LL..need assistance
I agree with all of the advise previously given and only have to add that if you encounter this problem again you should ask to speak with a manager. As I discovered this weekend at the Four Seasons in Philly, just because they work for a good hotel, doesn't necessarily mean every employee belongs there.
Keep us updated...

Thank you for all of your suggestions. I will be contacting the property again, by both email and phone. I will let you know how this plays out!

WE spoke with someone at the property again, and they pretty much repeated what the other person had said. I did arrange through this person the same package for just a little bitmore money. The resort is the Stevenswood Resort in Mendocino. I will post my review on tripadvisor.com when we return. Thanks again for your suggestions.
