Glamping!!
Let's Go Glamping! - Articles - Departures
I don't think the Tree House Lodge qualifies as any kind of camping, but there are some really cool places here! I requested 4 Rivers Lodge, Cambodia in suggested properties."wherever you go, there you are"

As long as the lodge is in a jungle with lots of critters and there is indoor plumbing - I am good to go. However, luxury camping would be ideal ;-)
Roam if you want to, roam around the world...........

04-26-2012, 04:48 PMPlumbing just has to be indoors? Not necessary to flush? Sometimes the further off the path and deeper palm thatch covering into the jungle, you are fortunate if you even get a bucket inside your tent, shack or palm thatch covering....been there - done that!- Ω -

I love the outdoor showers in Asia and South Africa. I draw the line on squatting over streams or buckets...and I avoid French toilets in any country!!

04-26-2012, 06:40 PMWell, well, well, now we know why it's best to buy the DVDs when it comes to certain remote experiences in several countries. As for me. I could care less about customs.
I'll fit right in and do what and how the locals do.

Morgan's Rock in Nicaragua is a cool example of glamping! We stayed twice and loved it! Like a screened in cabin but nice touches. I see it is offered again on LL...

I am looking forward to the 2 places in Nica we are doing March 2013 - Jicarro especially seems like a cool glamping spot! I tend to like places that are more off the beaten track with fewer tourists so as long as I can take a shower and there are flush toilets, I don't really mind if the place is not luxurious - the Sandoval Lodge in the Peruvian amazon was one of my best trips (it is actually pretty near the Amazon lodge that has been offered here on LL). Not 5 star luxury by any stretch but right on the lake with the giant river otters, plentiful but basic all included meals, great staff, clean rooms with indoor plumbing.
BJ - I actually was looking at Morgan's Rock but picked Aqua & Jicarro for the Nica trip because Morgan's just seems like it has become much more touristy.Roam if you want to, roam around the world...........
