Great credit card offer for travelers interested in going to South America
I just applied for and received the LAN Visa Signature Card. There are three cards that are offered, but this is by far my favorite. The best part of the deal is that users get 20% off a LAN purchase once a year, up to $1,000, and this can be used for multiple flights or people as long as they are booked in the same transaction. A bonus of 20,000 miles is given after the first purchase and an additional 4,000 miles are added with the annual credit card renewal. The annual fee of $75 is waived for the first year. Finally, there is a 25% flight miles bonus with your card. Even if you don't intend to keep the card for very long, you can apply for it and use it to purchase your tickets. It's not often that you can get 20% off the price of tickets.

Thanks P. I looked at the LAN card for my December trip. Something else interesting.....I was able to use my BA Chase cc points (AVIOS) to book my LAN flights. For example, I used my points for Santiago to Mendoza and Bariloche to Buenos Aires. Normally this would have caused hundreds! The Avios points are based on miles travelled so the points used is very low.

Santiago to Mendoza is such an inexpensive flight that it hardly seems worthwhile to use your points. I don't remember exactly how much we paid, but I think it was around only $100 per person round trip.
