How are the "All you can know" travelers researching trips nowadays? Travel shows, TripAdvisor, Twitter?

Not too high on using guide books. I do have several files of articles I have saved over the years from different travel magazine [CNTraveler, etc.], covering specific destinations and experiences of other travel writers. Most of my hotel information comes from the internet like so many others.

Like many of us, I get my most up to date info on the internet, but I also enjoy leafing through through a good travel book at Borders or other book stores. The library travel books are often a little outdated. I rarely take a travel book with me, they are just too much to carry. I print out specific items of what I want to visit, or restaurants where I want to eat. With my Notebook along, I can always access the internet if I need more info.

We don't usually carry guide books with us on our trips, but we all take individual assignments in reading as many guide books as possible, before we depart.

Of course, my youngest son, insists on doing his research on the internet and he does come up with some very good and current information.

Here is a website with guidebooks to purchase in pdf format. Great to take with you on your Kindle. I like the fact that you can chose to purchase the entire book, or only pay for specific chapters you are interested in.
