We have been taken away in the 80's into an interrogation room in Yugoslavia. They thought my husband was carrying a missile launcher through the airport! (it was just posters in the tube from an art musuem!) Pretty scary in the 80's!!

I have not booked any airfare since the summer when I was booking for the Mexico trip we took in March and I was investigating airfares for the fall - I have always used Continental for Latin American trips and their rates from Philadelphia were always excellent. I randomly put in dates - 1st week of December - departing on a Tuesday (which is usually much less expensive ) and returning the next Wednesday - Phila - Lima, Peru and I could not believe the airfare per person was $1400! I have been to Peru 3x in the past couple of years and have never had airfares over $700 on Continental - and most of the selections they gave me were on United flights through Washington DC or Chicago instead of the usual PhL - Houston - Lima route. I think I am starting to see that good old reliable Continental is being swallowed up by United ;-( bummer

I have noticed a lot of very good air fare sales recently. Must be the usual concern about those planning travel after school starts again in the fall.

I have been trolling airfares for a few different regions in Latin America and the fares are all over the board - On Continental - for the same dates in Feb/March - Mexican destinations range from $500-$600 and Costa Rica is about the same (and if you go to 1st class the fare is around 850-900), - all good fares, however, Belize fares were over $800 - in the recent past, Belize was always as inexpensive as Mexico and was never more expensive than Costa Rica - what's up with that - did they cut flights to Belize, is Belize all of a sudden a very popular destination?

I called the consulate. It is only paid at both Buenos Aires airports (EZE and the Newbury? location.) It is not to be collected at Mendoza airport when flying in from Santiago. That's the story and the correct information.

I have never flown JetBlue, Airtran or Southwest either. But I am flying off to Paris on AirFrance next week for a mere $124 roundtrip out of Munich. Here truly, I couldn't buy g, of course, the same flight can cost as much of 800+ Euros if you book at the last minute.

Has anyone noticed that all the adds for most airlines always show the fancy 1st class seats - I just saw an add for the new Boeing airbus and boy does it look nice - of course all the pictures in the add and on the commercial were for the first class cabin - I wonder if coach is just as nice - anyone know?

I'm confused--Boeing is one maker and Airbus is another. Are you thinking the A380--monster/mega jet?

Alot of people do videos on youtube--walking around cabin to cabin when possible.
First and business class always looks GOOD!!
I got to sit on the upper deck of 747 in biz class on the way back from Japan to Detroit--it wasn't the newest (nor as fancy as the new A380) but it was like a private cocktail lounge--a few dozen seats, staircase from main level made me think "cruise ship" (not the Titanic!!)
But it really was cool. I'd love to do it again.

Several year ago - 2004 or 2005 - I flew from Detroit to Toyko in the upper deck of biz class on a Northwest 747. I agree; it was really nice - and quiet up above the rest of the all the passengers on the plane. I would also like to do that again!
