Have You Ever Met Another Luxury Link Traveler?
We're entering our 8th year of doing business with Luxury Link. We were reviewing q number of our trips last evening and tried to recall the times we met other guests who were visiting on Luxury Link packages.
Have you ever met another traveler during one or more of your trips?
How about another VIP?- Ω -

We met a family of LL travelers with small children at the Hotel Gruener Baum in Dorf Gastein, Austria. However, I did not catch their names.
I have never met another VIP member.

02-15-2012, 01:26 PMWe ran into another couple in Punta Cana at what was Secrets Sanctuary Cap Cana at the time. Don't think we've met any LL VIPs (could care less about VIP forum titles to be honest). I bring my LL hat on every trip but nobody seems to take notice. I've told lots of folks about luxurylink. Most of them are shocked when they find out what we paid. That said, we haven't found anything worth bidding on at LL this year. Been a disappointing 2012 so far. Bring on another round of around the world, sans the one day auctions which were bid up to the point of offering no value whatsoever.

02-15-2012, 03:12 PMNope, but I just missed one by a couple of days. The front desk manager mentioned, during my welcome orientation, that I was the second Luxury Link guest to visit their property that week.
I almost asked for their name, but I assumed there would be a confidentiality issue.
The hotel treated me like royalty during my stay, so I guess the previous Luxury Link visitor did not cause any problems.

02-16-2012, 05:17 AMWhen I check into a Luxury Link property, I always ask to be identified by an alias and that the hotel personnel keep my true identity confidential. They never question my reasons for doing so.
I have done this for years.
It always seems to make for a more interesting experience and I believe I am accorded even more special attention.

I like Mountie's idea, although I have never had anyone "looking" for me at any properties - LL ones or not. I did spend a few days with another LL VIP traveler during one of our LL trips - found out we were going to be in the same place at the same time so we met each other - nice to meet others that use this site. I have had hotels go either way on my LL trips - really good treatment - I guess they figure that someone who is there on a LL package will talk the place up when they get home but I have also had the opposite with folks at the hotel practically ignoring me - maybe since we were there on a LL auction and did not pay "full fare" they figured we did not "deserve" any special treatment. I do not go out of my way to advertise to other guests that we used LL to come to the property. Hubby & I usually keep to ourselves and only chat up other guests in shared situations like tours, some meals, etc.
Roam if you want to, roam around the world...........

I was with another VIP in Guatemala....nice experience to meet in person!! At the Cliffs Lodge in Chile, 90% of the guests were "LL package" guests!! Very interesting!
Mountie-I love how your fly and I love how you stay at properties! A true celebrity! KUDOS to your style.

02-17-2012, 04:49 AMb-j-3, I think you and another PA VIP hooked up in Guatemala.
Yep, I travel the way I travel and it works for me. Some time I apply those temporary tattoos, mostly the tribal art designs, just before I arrive at a property. That seems to work.

bonniejoy03, I think we were at The Cliffs a week or so following your visit. There were actually four Luxury Link couples who were in and out of The Cliffs during the time we were there.
The only other guests, was a family of four who had bought one of the company real estate packages in North Carolina and received the trip to Patagonia as a 'bonus.'
None of the other Luxury Link guests had heard of or ever visited this on-line community.- Ω -

I've never met another LL'er while traveling, but if we meet someone who we really like when we're staying at a Luxury Link property, we tell them all about this great website. We don't do this to make them feel bad that they spent more than we did and got a lot less, but so they can use LL the next time they travel.
