They are still smoking in Paris, and you can smell it immediately when you get off the plane in CDG.

I guess they are not enforcing the no smoking laws very much in Paris ;-)
Most of these other countries start enacting American style rules when they decide they want to attract more American tourists, however, are Americans still the big spenders in travel?

I remember when we were in Ecuador - I loved the floating hotel we went on in the Amazon and we were the only Americans - the rest of the passengers were British. No air conditioning but plenty of fans and I did not think it was hot at all and of course most folks in other countries do not use air conditioning anyway so the Brits were not bothered at all. At the end of the trip, the guys on the boat told us they were closing down for renovations and were going to add air conditioning in order to attract more American tourists - I have experienced this many times - hotels, etc. telling us they had to change things so more Americans would come since Americans were the biggest complainers and were not happy if the amenities were "not the same as in America" Oh well.....
Roam if you want to, roam around the world...........

AA responded back to my question. We would be able to use the lounge for free. I also did note that when booked, there was a "question mark" symbol. The symbol explained what "business special" meant. Missed it before I posted this info!! I still haven't heard from USair but via my phone call, I should be able to use the lounge on our trip.

Usually, tasty meal and USAir are terms seldom used in the same paragraph, even when first class is included.

So, bonniejoy03, you always seem to bring your own food supplies on your annual island adventure. Never any problems with TSA carrying a basket of corn?

Nope...no problems with the food. We just don't bring it back to the US. The USAir lounge was great in Charlotte. There were so many storms and everyone was delayed. Great relaxation. The wonderful host popped up our ff number and said we still had one more pass available?! What a great surprise and still can't figure how this happened. We were spoiled with 1st class on the way back from San Juan. We had the 767 with full reclining seats. I spent the entire 3.5 hours pushing every button every few minutes!! What a cheap thrill. The food really was good also. No first class for Argentina in the winter but planning 1st class on the way back from Ecuador......

bonniejoy03, my last flight in Envoy aboard a USAir 767offered near lie-flat seat with 170-degree recline.

I guess near lie-flat is just near and not actually lie-flat.

I love the way airlines play with terms.
