hey everyone! My sister will be graduating this May from highschool and I would like to take her on a trip over the summer. If anyone has any destination recommendations for the summer months that would be great. We are looking for something other than the caribbean though, since we will be traveling there in april. Thanks in advanced.

Re: Help planning a trip
Jesslynn, can you give us some more information. Do you want to go to Europe, U.S, Far East, Middle East, Indian Ocean etc.? It would also help if we knew were you would be flying from. Do you want somewherebusy or more laid back? What would your budget be approximately? Do you want somewhere with lots going on or do you both intend on just chilling out after allyour sister's hard work? Giving us more info would help us choose a suitable resort for you both.

For someone in that age range, I have learned that it is best to check in with them to learn their favorite places: city, country, level of adventure, new activities to try, new places to experience...whatever she dreams of doing. Once you have a few hints, you can focus on what LL has to offer since LL has trips of all descriptions available for bid. Have a great time! She will remember your trip forever! Cheers...Marolyn

Re: Help planning a trip
Canada in summer is wonderful. I would suggest flying into Calgary and taking the ice fields Parkway to Lake Louise, Banff and Jasper. It is BEAUTIFUL. Lots of nature, wildlife, mountains, crystal clear (or pepto bismal blue) waters etc. Rent a convertible if you can swing it. We've done that and had the time of our lives! You can stop several places to hike and/or picnic. Suggestions for places to stay would be the pacific railway hotels - Banff Springs or Jasper Park Lodge. These are expensive but who knows maybe they will be on LL??? If these are too expensive try Fodors / Frommers books for other ideas. Once we rented a condo in Canmore - an easy drive to the best locations. Have Fun - what a nice sister!

jesslynn21...give us a little more information. LL offers some excellent choices and values...however, distance willing to travel, time frame for trip, budget and general interests might help members of this community to share their experiences and recommendationswith you.

Re: Help planning a trip
Hi Jesslynn21:
I know when I graduated college, my friends and I went to Europe and had a blast ! There just so much history, sites to see, traveling, etc to do and when you don't mind roughing it, backpacking through Europe is great. You do realize that you posed this question to LL users which will yield you a more high end itinerary, but there's nothing wrong with that and this would be the place to find that great deal to Europe or anywhere for that matter. Good luck and happy travels !

You cannot get better than April in Paris, as the song goes. If not, try something quite special like the trips to Costa Rica, Mexico, Argentina, or even Peru
