Do you interact with members of the Luxury Link Concierge Team prior to making a buying/bidding decision?
I usually email for info if it's a simple question about a detail in the pkg prior to purchase. I've only had one issue getting confirmation for a booking and had to work thru concierges to solve it for me. An, off course, it was.
I always call prior to a package. I really want to make sure I haven't missed anything and I also like to check the dates with LL and the property. The concierge service provides insight and has caught a few things I had missed. For example, I totally missed a property listed as check-in ONLY Sunday through Thursday. (I wanted to go on a Saturday.) They bought this to my attention and saved me from making a big and costly error! THANKS LL!!!
Oh yes, I know I have been a thorn in their sides [actually more like their butts]. I am somewhere between anal-retentive and obsessive compulsive and as such, I double and triple every detail. So the Concierge Team is critical to my pre-purchase decisions and very much involved in helping me sort out all of the details involved in my packages. They earn their $40 handling fees whenever I am involved.
reminds me of the slogan:
"and we're worth it"
it applies to LL concierges and us!
Are you kidding? Those guys and gals at the LL office see my phone show up on caller ID and they run for the hills. I get them involved before every one of my purchases and usually during my final planning stages for the trips.
I have only used them when I wanted to slightly depart from the trip details - like splitting nights on a package, although the hotel itself is usually the one I contact regarding questions.
I just spoke to a LL Concierge today. They get answers to questions. I don't mind paying the $40 fee, but I am concerned they maybe moving the fee up to $75 shortly.
Anyone else hear about this possibility?
If it true, then I better get up off my mule and buy something soon.
Mountie,
I hope you are wrong on the booking fee increase to $75. While I think that the Concierge Service is very helpful, almost doubling the fee would make me think twice on what I buy. Remember when the fee was $20 and they doubled it to $40. A $40 booking fee is plenty in my opinion.
I would also think twice about booking anything if the fee was raised to $75 - way too much in my book! When I did my Washington DC package and used the 10% code it took care of the $40 booking fee so I ended up paying the full amount for the package minus the fee. I already feel that $40 is a bit high especially since I don't even use the concierge service - I think I used it maybe 1x and I have never called them on the phone
