02-02-2007, 09:16 AMHow much is too much?
While looking at the auctions available, I noticed that many are multiple packages, up to 5, for one site. Is it possible to buy, for example, two packages to the same resort and double your fun, time relaxing, and amenities? For time in London, for example, the doubled time might make the exchange rate even more attractive for the whole trip. LL rates are so reasonable, I would like to plan my upcoming trip to London at one hotel but for two LL auction wins. Cheers...Marolyn

I think it is possible. I have spoken to other LL-ers who have done this - bought 2 packages and extended their trip. If you intend to go to London, let me know if you would like some additional information (I live in London), especially if this is a first visit.

Thanks for the offer of London inside information. While I have been in London many times, I always enjoy discovering new areas and events. I also know that I want to be there at least a week at a time, thus the question about using more than one package from LL for the trip. Cheers...Marolyn

Re: How much is too much?
Hello Bdsouza,
Nice to see another person from the UK on LL! I'm in Oxford and Mary-J is in Scotland.
I've definitely seen people combine packages back-to-back -- you just need to work out the availability issues with the hotel. For that reason it's worth contacting them before you bid as getting availability for a long stay can sometimes be challenging.
Please do let us know if you'll be on this side of the pond!
Cheers,
Julian

I've also wondered if its possible to buy/win 2 packages and then use them both at the same time for a family trip....ie. parents in one room & kids in the other. I can't think why this wouldn't be allowed.

Your suggestion seems reasonable to me...and sounds like fun. The only issue to deal with might be the site and their willingness or availability to give space to two LL trips at the same time. As with all packages, you might want to contact the site before planning your (hopefully) winning bid. Good luck with it....Cheers...Marolyn

marolyn, this sounds like one of those customer service questions. Better to be sure than sorry.

Re: How much is too much?
A few of the auctions I am interested in are for either 3 or 5 nights but would want to stay at least 7. I had thought about bidding on two of the packages in the same auction but was worried incase I only won one of the packages as obviously if more people bidded for the auction than there were packages then I assume they would give the packages to different bidders. Would you be able to bid twice??I assume you could not bid under the same name? to get round that problem, I suppose I could get my husband to join L.L. also and he could bid under his name too. Ifwe did bid for two packages, but only won one of them then it means that we would be going for a shorter duration than we would have liked. I suppose we could contact the hotel and just book extra nights to add on but that would be more expensive than if we had won the two auctions. Or maybe we could bid for one auction and then when the same resort came up again we could bid on that one too and hope we were able to get dates next to each other. Has anyone managed to get a longer duration at a resort by doing this?
Cheers.

Hi Mary
Do you think that if the package you want comes up dutch at auction thatyou would be able to bid on the two at the same time, and win them both. Just a suggestion, maybe this idea can solve your problem.
