How Transatlantic FLlghts will end ?

The volcano in Iceland is going to be causing travel problems for quite some time. I read today about changes a British company called "Direct Line" has made to their traveler insurance policies because of it. I went to their site to see. It took a little searching before I could find the information.



What their policy now has included is the following:

"Whilst we appreciate that this event has caused mass disruption and inconvenience for travellers, customers wishing to buy travel insurance after the 15th April 2010 will not be covered for travel delay or missed departure arising from the volcanic ash, as they are buying cover in the knowledge that there is a problem. As you are unable to insure for an event or incident after it has happened, this highlights the importance of buying travel insurance as soon as a holiday or flight is booked."



I haven't checked to see if other companies are following suit, but I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes the norm. It will be well worth travelers checking to see if the company will cover travel delays / cancellations due to this event, as the information may be burried in the fine print of the policy.

The ash cloud has made a return to our skies today. I know so many people now who have been affected by it and it looks like it's going to continue. What with this and the potential BA strike this is not a good year for European air travel.

snapyou, this might really be a good time in your life to consider making that big relocation. Move to that little bite of paradise you have always dreamed about and just get off that soon to be ash covered island.



You know, you had a sign from God a few months back when you fell in the canal in Venice. Say goodbye to rain, cold and ash covered runways at Heathrow.
