Pico Bonito is in Honduras.....great aproperty and outdoor adventure....we bought an auction package and stayed there! This is a great price.....if you buy it and plan to visit....be prepared for "rain" and "mud" on the hiking trails.- Ω -

LL_Moderator_ks....regardless of how you spell it; HUNDURUS or HONDURAS....Pico Bonito is a beautiful lodge and offers an interesting jungle experience.....we enjoyed every minute of our auction package and loved hiking to the sceret water falls along the numberous trails. Someone is going to get a real steal on this auction!

wow that's a really nice place. Honestly I haven't heard of that place yet until I saw your thread. I'd like to visit there sometime, it looks very interesting and beautiful.

matthewlawrence26...we posted a blog on Pico Bonito last year, if you would like to read more about our visit just click on this link:

Honduras remains a real travel bargain and there are several air carriers offereing reasonably priced fares into San Pedro Sula, the closest gateway to La Ceiba, which is where Pico Bonito is located.- Ω -

How many days do you think are best for a vacation to Honduras? I've never been able to figure out exactly how much time is enough to really enjoy but not get too much.

Re: HUNDURAS?
maylinglai1....all depends what you want to do....if you are big into scuba diving, you might wish to visit Roitan (serious divers rave about it), if you have interests in the Mayan cultures, you might wish to spend at least a day or maybe two atCopn (some of the best preserved ruins in Central America). The larger cities (Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, etc.)are still pretty much "Third World" and generally not the best of places to spend a great deal of time.
Likely after four or five days at Pico Bonito, hiking and trekking in the mountains and visiting waterfalls, you will be ready to leave!- Ω -

I think they generally offer it as a 5 day offering. All of those things sound (ruins amazing/scuba) right up my alley. If I ever see it 3 days, that sounds like it would be perfect for my purposes. Thanks for the feedback. Have you seen it the past for 3 days, incidentally?

maylinglai1, was able to conduct a simply search on the Pico Bonito destination and there appear to be no offerings of fewer than 5 days. Why not just buy 3 nights at the discounted LL price, if 3 nights are all you need?
