Re: I'm looking for a honeymoon destination in the carribean...
Hi Mary J,
Yes, shipping luggage is almost a prerequisite in business, these days. Companies don't want their people to waste any additional time than they have to at airports, and potentially missing their meetings. Carry on the work and some personal items, and ship the rest of it !!!

Re: I'm looking for a honeymoon destination in the carribean...
mary-j....we use a luggage service www.theluggageclub.com (not every trip, but frequently), especially when several changes of aircraft are involved to reach our final destination. We typically take small carry-on bags with basic changes of clothing and ship the bigger stuff ahead. Most services offer a tracking system (just like FedEx), so you can see the progress your baggage makes and when it arrives. We usually ship about four or five days prior to our departure. Nothing can mess up a holiday like having your clothes go to Africa when you are planning a trip to Mexico!mary-j wrote:
Getting your luggage shipped over to your destination sounds a great idea. I never even knew it was possible to do that. I have certainly never heard of anyone here doing that. I imagine it would be a lot less stressful than having to check in your luggage, especially if you have several connectionsand therefore you would enjoy your journey more.Is itvery expensive to do this?

Thanks for your response Two2go ! I agree I have gotten so much informationfrom this thread which is what makes the LL Community such a helpful interactive place. After a lot of research and trying to pinpoint the perfect place, I've narrowed it down to4 places ( Sandy Lane, Jade Mountain Spa, and Covecastles, Spice Island) I have to book this by next week so I will let those who are interested know what we picked. I'm usually a mercenary traveler ( Pick up and go) but with the honeymoon it's got to be just right ...

Well we've been to Petit St. Vincent, Provo, and Biras Creek as mentioned. Our favorite hands down would be Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos. Actually, we recommended it to a couple who wanted a special place to get engaged last year and they loved it. Been there twice (and we are fussy). Done extended traveling thruout the Carribean and this is the best. Fabulous beaches, gourmet food, wonderful (primarily Asian) staff, and a fabulous spa. Check out there web site Parrot Cay, Luxury Caribbean Resort and Spa. Ben Afflect honeymooned there. Bruce Willis has a home on the property that you can rent. You never know who you might see there - Donnatella Versace (has a home there), Dolce and Gabbano, Jack Black, or Mick Jaggar (I think has a home there). Anguilla is another great island. Let me know if you need any other info.
