......we attended the Bob Krist photographic lecture on Peru http://www.perulectures.com last weekin Miami. Aside from thefascinating photos and informative comments from Mr. Krist, we found it even more interesting to chat with the Peruvian tourismrepresentatives, in attendance, regarding the increasing number of tourists their country is enjoying. They believe the continued strength of the Euro against the Dollar has postured Peru and South America in general, to experience a substantial increase intourism. They are continuing to expand their tourism infrastructure to accommodate more visitors from North America (based on the currency issue), as well doing more advertising in selected European countries. They are also working with several US airlines to increase and begin (see the Spirit Airlines postings)service to Peru and other South American countries. This may result in a wider selection of South American offerings from LL in the upcoming months.Competition continues to heat up for theNorth American traveler and that could be a good thing for members of this community.
