Re: just returned from nha trang vietnam 7 day holiday
HI Bradio-
Thanks for reporting back about your trip. I'm a bit unclear on something....did you buy an LL package for the Ana Mandara, and were upgraded to the Evason Hideaway? If I read that correctly, that was a huge upgrade.
I have stayed at the Hideaway, but not at the Ana Mandara. We were very happy with our stay. From what I have read, the Ana Mandara is not in the same league as the Hideaway.
Why did you not like Vietnam? Did you visit anywhere else except Nha Trang?
Thanks again for sharing your comments

Re: just returned from nha trang vietnam 7 day holiday
Hi Bradio,
As I'll be at the Hideaway resort myself in a few weeks, I too would like some clarification. First of all, the $440/night you were quoted sounds low for the Hideaway, not the actual Ana Mandara resort. And if the price you paid for a week at the Hideaway is correct, that is amazing value! But were you moved between the two resorts? Was the only problem that they could not find a non-smoking room for you?
Also, why wouldn't you return to Vietnam?

Re: just returned from nha trang vietnam 7 day holiday
Hi Bradio,
Thanks so much for the quick and thorough clarification - so sorry you had to move so many times during your stay - that can certainly put a damper on a holiday. I have heard that food at the Hideaway is quite expensive, and since you are so far removed from the town and main resort you're at their mercy in that regard. Perhaps we'll bring our own sodas and snacks to tide us over between meals when we're there. I'm disappointed to hear about your butler and the not-very-smooth experience at the resort. Other than that, did you find the resort to be nice (and hopefully a bit nicer than the mainland Ana Mandara itself, considering the price)? Besides the price, how was the food?
It sounds like Vietnam posed a bit of culture shock for you and your wife (and how can it not?) - but in a great way! Was this your first trip to Asia? You certainly packed a lot into your trip - both luxury and getting to know the real Vietnam - how wonderful. I hope you enjoy your trip to Africa.
