OK, community members, it's time to tell everyone what your last big plans are for summer travel! Anyone doing anything exciting or going to an exotic destination over Labor Day Weekend?

Mountie,
I can't say my plans are ""exotic"".....but we are having a great time. We are finally on our much anticipated first trip to Europe. Paris was first for 5 days, and now in Amsterdam for 3. We will be joining up with Uniworld tomorrow for a cruise on the Rhine.
Best to all the LL community members. You advice for our trip has been invaluable! I will write about it when we get back.

Can't wait to hear from shy after her trip--sounds great!!
sorry to say that when flying on standby, holidays are not our friends! my husband commutes to NY and that's tough enough with cutbacks.
That said, we will be winging our way to South Africa 2 weeks later--our reward for his labor of 23 years with the airline--and mine for being smart enough to shop LL for the safari deal of a lifetime!"wherever you go, there you are"

Kyshel, South Africa sounds like it may be a little exotic as well. This is a return visit for you, isn't it?

Indeed--it's the second safari--this one is Mateya Lodge and we are sooooo ready to be pampered and wowed.
I've done some other trips to Cape town (Steenburg Hotel)"wherever you go, there you are"

Hi,
Does riding our bikes through the Karwendelbach Valley in Austria and enjoying the views from the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain, sound exciting enough? We will finish up our stay in Germany with a 4-day stop in Paris (LL property near the Arc de Triomph) before heading home to the States.

Guess I'll pack a few things and head south to Key Largo for the next 10 days or so. Not too exotic, but most of the families with kids will NOT be hanging around and getting in the way of some good fishing.
If the storms stay out to sea, should be able to enjoy some quite time on the open water with my boat.
I'm going to start combing through the LL site shortly to find something interesting to do later in the fall.

Mountie--there are some new auctions for Canada and a couple of bargains like Se Hotel San Diego (aside from their spa price$$$). That Dana Hotel Chicago pkg is an awesome price when you apply a GC!!
I considered a lobster-eating debauchery in Maine (0ff season, of course) but I can't get into the B and B scene for some reason--make me think of staying over at a friend of a friend.
Have a good time shopping and of course, you'll keep us posted, yes?"wherever you go, there you are"
