10-02-2010, 10:45 AMLas Vegas - TheHotel vs. Signature at MGM Grand
Hi,
I'm planning a trip to Las Vegas for my birthday and am torn between staying at TheHotel and Signature at MGM Grand. Could anyone tell me their opinions of these two places? Just for best reference, I'm looking at theSuite at TheHotel and the One Bedroom Suite at The Signature. The main concern I have is that TheHotel is a distance from the rest of the strip. I really appreciate the help!Last edited by tajbabydoll; 10-02-2010 at 03:28 PM.

I just bought a three night package for the MGM Grand on FamilyGetaway. Great deal. I bought it for $284, less $100 because it was my first FamilyGetaway purchase. With the $40 handling fee and mandatory $20 per night resort (ripoff) fee, the total was $284 for three nights. I'm staying there this weekend, so I'll let you know how it is after I get back. We hope to make it to Hoover Dam and the new bridge, but we're meeting a bunch of friends in Vegas and I'm not sure how much discretionary time we'll have. Any recommendations on what to see, do or eat in Vegas would be appreciated. I haven't been there in close to thirty years.

Just got back yesterday from three nights in Vegas. We stayed at the Signature at the MGM Grand, a package that we bought from FamilyGetaway.com. The MGM is at the southern end of the strip and the last stop on the monorail. You can easily get to Mandalay Bay, New York, New York and other hotels very easily. The main problem with The Signature is that it's a ten minute walk from the towers to the front of the MGM, especially if you're in Tower 3, as we were. The best thing about The Signature is that there are no casinos and no smoking in the entire hotel. Once you leave the walkway (all inside) from the MGM Grand to The Signature, everything quiets down and the air is clean. It looks like any nice hotel that you'd find anywhere else. If you decide to stay at The Signature, just make sure to tell your cab driver ($13 including tip to the airport) that you're going to The Signature, not the MGM Grand.
