Let's help LL recruit new locations

Has anyone ever encouraged a property to submit packages on LL? We have, and it sometimes works. Wespend 3 nightson the Amalfi Coast in a Junior Suite at Santa Caterina, and fell in love with the hotel. They really did fit the criteria of LL, and we took the time a speak to the manager about LL. We thought we did a good job, but we never have seen them posted. Visited Quebec City for a week-end and came across AubergeSt.Antoine, went in tovisit. We were veryimpressed, and brought up LL. Four months later they were on LL. We bought the package, and enjoyed another beautiful weekend in Quebec. On a visit to Sicily three years ago, we stayed at magicalVilla Ducale, therewe wereusing their computor for auctions in Italy, we suggested LL to their manager. A few months laterthe ownere-mailed us, thankingus for our guidance, and they have been on auction since then.I would like to encourage anyone who gets the oppurtunity recruit a propertyto act on it, it sometimes works!

That's a great idea ! I think this would tie into really well with the other thread regarding a referral reward for your great work. I think that LL should make a policy to reward anyone who either refers new customers or new partner to their site. This would create the incentive needed to inspire growth !

two2go & VIP7...what can be better for LL than to build (and reward) an army of recruiters both for new properties and new members. After all, unlike LL paid staff, those of us who find and encourage new properties and new members to join Luxury Link would only be rewarded when we produce.

I think it is a great idea. Very often when we stay somewhere we always compare to places we have stayed with llink. I will try it the next place i stay that i think would be up to the standards. I hope those places mentioned you to Llink. you should be rewarded some way. I have had my eyes on the place in Sicily and it is on my list to visit.

I agree, you have come up with a good suggestion. Does L.L. know it was you who recommended them to the hotels? I have quite a few propertiesI would love to see on L.L., so maybe the next timeI am in Dubai, I will at least mention L.L. to the hotel I am in(obviously only ifI think it will meet L.L. standards). Whatare the moderatorsopinion on this? Do they agree with us doing this? After all, everyone will turn out winners in the end. I agree there could be a system where those who recommended the hotel should be awarded in some way, as long as the hotel was chosen by L.L. to be added to their portfolio. Look forward to hearing more on this subject from the L.L.moderators. thanks.

Yes, they did know about it. First of all the owner of the villa sent me a beautiful e-mail. I am sure that they mentioned how they learned about LL. Then in the summer of 2005 when we were in Spoleto, Italy at Palazzo Leti (another fabulos villa, with owners who treated us like family) an LL rep called to speak to them & we were there. Sig.Laura told him that we were one of the couples who won the LL auction. He asked to speak to me...I did for about 15 minutes. During the conversation we spoke about Ducale among other topics. There was no contact attempted by LL. I guess that even an e-mail saying thank-you would have been nice. To be fair I never asked for anything, and maybe they just did not know what to do with the situation. One thing is for sure, we are very proud to see Villa Ducale doing well, and still there. This place was a gem to us. The view of Mt.Etna was splendid, the people charming & friendly, & breakfast was to die for. A perfect LL addition for all of us.

On a message to Curtiejoe it occured to me that we have plenty of places home that we can suggest or recruit to LL. I am also looking forward to a response from the LL Moderators.

Excellent idea! Since we all seem to thrive on "luxury" travel, I will keep my eyes open for the next LL property. I wonder if LL would mind if we print out the info they give under "About US" and give it to the hotels we would like to see on LL, or LL could supply us with a promotional package that could be left with the hotels. It would be nice if LL Moderators could shed some light on these questions.

I think that your on to something, it would be great if they would prepare promotional packages that we as clients can leave off and have a one on one conversation about LL.
