The Ritz Carlton have a package available at some of their resorts which includes a top of the range Mercedes, I was tempted to book one myself, but cannot get the required flights from the UK.

Thank you for that website address. That is exactly what most of the members on this thread suggested. Hope the LL Moderators are taking note, because this would be the perfect package to have at auction to see if an idea like this would work.

WoW! Love the link you provided to the Ritz and the Mercedes-Benz.

Now that's a fabulous luxury package! Just the sort of thing I had in mind when I suggested it to LL in my post. I can just imagine cruising around New York and the countryside up-state along the Hudson in the Benz. Sure hope LL catches on and features something similar soon.

Agreed. BMW have cars placed in certain European hotels and although not part of a hotel package the cars can be rented for very preferential rates.

Wonderful news. I sure hope there are such hotels in An=msterdam and Paris, as my wife and I are visiting there this spring. And, to ride around in a classy BMW or other fine luxury car would really be the topping on the cake! Thanx for the info.

Last time I visited Amsterdam. I actually rented a bicycle and found it a very easy way to get around the city. I would be afraid to drive a car. I would really be afraid to drive a luxury car and get in an accident. Thank you.

mountie... that's an amazing idea. Bicycling around most European cities is almost as good as walking, which I prefer. have worn out a lot of shoe leather on the streets of London, Paris, Brussels, Brugge, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Helsinki over the years. The central cores of all those cities, like most in Europe, were built at a time when there were no cars, buses, or streetcars and the pedestrian was king. Mind you, you could also mount a horse and ridearound at a liesurely pace. Nowadays there aren't many horse-for-hire outlets, so a rental bike is an excellent alternative. It's cheap, convenient, environmentally-friendly and easy to park.



Yet, now and then, I'd love to drive around in a fabulous luxury car, and hang the fear of accidents.
