Lonely Planet's Top 10 Cities for 2012: No Pittsburgh?
I recently posted Travel & Leisure's top 25 cities to visit and, for some reason, they included Pittsburgh, one of only two U.S. cities on the list. I like Lonely Planet's top 10 cities a lot more, although I've been to only four of them.
Any other cities that should be on the list?

I am suprised Pittsburgh made the list - that area of PA is so surrounded by gas wells - Pittsburgh was lucky enough to get their zoning law passed so that no gas drilling could go on within the city limits - upstate and western PA are so scenic but the darn wells are ruining the landscape as well as polluting folks wells. PA has a very bad record on ecology!

I see a list for 10--no Pitt in sight. Where is the link for Top 25, please?
Cape Town should be there."wherever you go, there you are"

I'm very, very jealous, bonniejoy. Have a great trip! There's a free tour leaving in front of the cathedral in Plaza de Armas every day at 10:00 and 3:00. The tour lasts four hours and it's excellent! Our guide, Franco, was very knowledgable and he told us a lot of very interesting stories about Santiago (Coffee with legs, the happy minute, the origin of Nuts 4 Nuts, etc.). The guide doesn't take you into any buildings, but he'll tell you the history of the buildings and what's in them so you can return if you'd like. For good ice cream, go to Emporio la Rosa and for yogurt blended with fruit or other mix-ins go to Yogen Fruz in Plaza Bellavista or on the Bernardo O'Higgins pedestrian street in downtown Santiago. Chau!
