LuxeLife Experiences
All Community Members...wehave purchased two items from the LuxeLife Collection (both at auction, rather than "Buy Now"). We continue to watch this section in hopes of some new technologywill beappearing. We hope LL offers the Garmin nvi 370, which we thinkwould be a better choice than the Garmin nvi 350, since the 370 comes loaded with both U.S. & European coverage, while the 350 does not. We would find this more useful in our travels.
Has anyone in the community made LuxeLife purchases (auctions or Buy Now)? Have you found the prices to be competitive or better than you can locate from other sources? If you have purchased, what has been your experience? How about outside of the US....anyone purchased any items, any difficulties with shipping and/or customs?

Hi O,
I've found the prices to be excellent on LuxeLife ! I wish however they would put more products up. I already have cameras although I would love to bid on a camcorder if that were to be offered ! The "Buy Now" prices are also very good !

I have bid on several items and have been successful on a designer tote and a gold necklace. The prices on both items were just a bit more than half of the retail cost. I enjoy using/wearing both items and look for other luxury "finds" each time I log on to LL. In the future, I'd bid more often if there were more options. Cheers..Marolyn

Re: LuxeLife Experiences
I'm wondering if the LL Moderators can tell us if there are any plans to expand the line of product on Luxelife section as I believe the prices are excellent ! Or if they will start auctions on maybe some higher priced products such as cars, espresso machines, high end scotch, etc...

Re: LuxeLife Experiences
LL_Moderators....we've noticed you had added a few more "Bid Now" items....actually one of the itemswe have been considering was originallylistedas "Buy Now" and you recentlychanged it to "Bid Now."We also noticed your "Bid Now"starting price was the same as your prior "Buy Now" price. Maybe it'sour calculator, butwe're trying to arrive at the "savings" on that item. Any way, perhaps you would consider including an item from LuxeLife in one of your future $1.00 offerings in your E-Newsletter. Could spark some increasedinterest!

I would love to see the luxelife section expanded. I haven't purchased anything yet, but I have compared the prices to other internet sources and the luxelife prices are the best by far.

Re: LuxeLife Experiences
Hello,
Has anyone from outside the US bought something on LuxeLife? The prices look great for iPods etc but I'm concerned that I'd end up getting hit with duty or VAT when it was shipped to the UK -- this happened to me when I had some other items sent to me from the US after winning them on Ebay. 17% VAT plus customs duty definitely eats into the savings.
Cheers,
Julian

Hi Jashermd
Well actually I had an eye on the Cartier watch offered onLuxeLife. I didn't bid on it because I was afraid of theduty & taxes that would be added on. I wasdebating with myself for a few days wondering, at the end of it all, would it really be a good price? Then I thought, this can't be the first itemI buyon LuxLife, it's just to expensive. As soon as I find an item I like that is not so expensive, I'll takethe chance, & buy. These items areprobablygreat dealsfor those living in the US.

Re: LuxeLife Experiences
Hello,
Funny, I've been looking at the watches too. I haven't seen a Cartier yet, though I'd be very interested if one did come up, especially the gents' automatic Santos two-tone version (hint, hint).
I'm looking at the iPods now. Technology is so overpriced in the UK it's ridiculous...I teach at the medical school at the Universiy of Oxford and even with my educational discount I'd be better off buying something at retail in the US. Every time I go to the US I bring back a gadget or two. I don't think I own a piece of technology which was purchased here, except for my laptop which was bought through one of my grants.
Speaking of which...I'd love to see a MacBook Pro on LuxeLife. If iPods can be done, why not MacBooks?
Cheers,
Julian

Re: LuxeLife Experiences
Hi Julian:
You should also check a website called overstock.com they often have Cartier Watches and for a decent price, although there are some watch dealers here in NYC that can do even better on the price, so if you are ever in the states I can point you in the right direction. I am very into luxury watches myself so I understand some of the price differences when buying them around the globe. My last great deal actuallycame from Singapore !
