Re: LuxeLife - What Happened?
funtimes.....sorry to take so long to respond (don't know how I missed the question)! Actually, there is a nuvi670 available for auctionright nowin LuxeLife for the minimum ($670+). We already programmed in several of our upcoming destinations in the Czech Republic and Italy. We're renting a car for a few days of exploring in the dolomites, so the nuvi670 will be worth the cost, just toreduce the chances ofgetting lost and/or involving ourselves in an accident(when we're driving and trying to navigate from conventional maps, we tend to miss stuff....the nuvi670 does give audible alerts and directions). We've also programmed in some restaurant locations in each destination city, which should be a great assistance (by pushing a button itcan be switched frompedestrianto motor vehicle mode....also it works on a rechargable battery as well as a vehicle charger).

Re: LuxeLife - What Happened?
omegaet -- please do alittle report on your success (and any downsides) on your new GPS. have looked at it on luxelife. its a good price. would like to have some 'field testing' from a vacationer. (personally, in Rome, i dont take my eyes off the road when engaged in traffico --- but the countryside, and smaller cities, it would be of value if the maps are in fact reflective of the city!!)
enjoy your holidays.
kind regards.
Re: LuxeLife - What Happened?
obrienkf....the Garmin nuvi670 performed exceptionally well on our recent trip to Prague, Evian, Venice and Follina in the Dolomites. The maps are current, and the POI data is accurate. Withinseconds of departing the rental car park at Marco Polo, the 670 had acquired satellite signals and our route was being plotted directly to the A27 and north. Within a few kilometers, we had gained confidence in the 670 accuracyand exited the A27to use some of the back roads. Every time we decided to take ascenic detour, the 670 quickly reconfigured a route and continued to direct us to our destination.
A couple of times, hotel staff suggested restaurants and assisted us in entering the locations into the 670 before we departed in our car.....this was a great help in the evening when some signs are more difficult to see.
Later in the trip, when we were back on the A27, the 670 pick up traffic congestion conditions several kilometers ahead and allowed us the opportunity to make an early exit and avoid the situation.
We would only use the deviceas a "back up" in amajor city (there is a bit of lag time on the processing of the satellite signals....and in a city like Rome or Paris a second or twoof delay can translate toundesirable driving results).
We think the 670 is a winner and the price was exceptional through LuxeLife!
